The 65-year-old unmarried broadcaster Choi Hwa-jung visited a matchmaking agency.
On July 7, Choi Hwa-jung's YouTube channel "Hello, I'm Choi Hwa-jung" released content titled "Why did Korea's single icon Choi Hwa-jung suddenly decide to get married?"
In that content, Choi Hwa-jung visited a matchmaking agency. Earlier Choi Hwa-jung had said, "I dyed my balsam flower water. If any of it remains until the first snow, I'll go to a matchmaker and try dating." After the first snow fell and the balsam flower dye remained, she went to the matchmaking agency she found in person.
Choi Hwa-jung said, "I'm so nervous. I still have balsam flower dye on my fingertips, so I came. I'm very nervous and tense," showing signs of anxiety.
Meeting the matchmaking agency manager, Choi Hwa-jung said, "I don't remember the last time I felt fluttery. That kind of thing is a little sad." The manager conducted an interview to assess Choi Hwa-jung's financial situation and ideal type.
First, the manager asked, "To what extent are you financially stable?" and Choi Hwa-jung replied, "I'm somewhat stable. I started working early and I'm stable. I own one home," she said. The manager asked again, "Does that mean you have an income that could buy a foreign car every month?" and Choi Hwa-jung acknowledged that, drawing attention.
About her hobbies, Choi Hwa-jung said, "There are parts people don't believe, but my MBTI is I. I'm somewhat introverted, I guess? Being with our Joon, reading books alone, and I like cooking."
She added, "I'm really not lonely being alone. Sometimes in interviews people say, 'I'm actually lonely being alone' to seem kind, but I really enjoy being alone. Sometimes I wake up in bed and laugh a little. I like it so much."
On her ideal type, Choi Hwa-jung said, "First, I dislike a too-spry style. Men who are older but very muscular, wearing ripped jeans, riding a Harley motorcycle—those kinds of people are a bit much for me. I prefer someone who ages naturally. Even so, if I met someone who had charm, my heart would go to them. That has to exist, but meeting people isn't easy, so those happenings don't seem to happen." She then added with a laugh, "Who would want to meet a 65-year-old?"
