Actor Jeong-woo and his wife Kim Yu-mi draw attention by appearing together in Dear X.
On the 8th, OSEN exclusively reported that Jeong-woo and Kim Yu-mi will both appear in the new TVING original series Dear X (written by Choi Ja-won and Ban Ji-woon, directed by Lee Eung-bok and Park So-hyun). Following the earlier appearance of the wife Kim Yu-mi, the husband Jeong-woo is also set to make a special appearance.
Dear X is a drama that depicts the story of Baek Ah-jin (played by Kim Yoo-jung), a woman who wears a mask to escape hell and rise to the highest place, and the Xs who were cruelly trampled by her. Among them, Kim Yu-mi first appears as Hwang Ji-seon, the mother of Yoon Jun-seo (played by Kim Young-dae). Jeong-woo is expected to add tension with a special appearance.
Jeong-woo and Kim Yu-mi met while appearing together in the 2013 film Red Family. They later became lovers and married in 2016. Thus, 12 years after Red Family, which brought the two together as a couple, they will appear in the same production again through Dear X.
Beyond acting, Jeong-woo and Kim Yu-mi are creating synergy as colleagues in the entertainment industry. Recently, Jeong-woo challenged himself with his first feature film directing effort through Jjanggu, a spin-off sequel to the film Wind. Kim Yu-mi also participated in the planning and production of that film, adding significance.
According to people involved in the film, Jeong-woo wrote the screenplay and directed Jjanggu, and Kim Yu-mi planned the story and production direction from the early stages. With these efforts, Jjanggu was officially invited to the 'Korean Cinema Today — Special Premiere' section at the 30th Busan International Film Festival held last September.
At the 30th Busan International Film Festival, Dear X was also invited and received favorable reviews after showing some episodes to audiences. The addition of Kim Yu-mi and Jeong-woo raises curiosity.
Dear X is a work adapted into a drama from the webtoon of the same name by Ban Ji-woon. It was first released on TVING on Sept. 6, and former child actress Kim Yoo-jung has been praised for her shocking, powerful performance.
