Singer-songwriter Lucid Fall conveys a hymn of solidarity and hope toward the dazzling sunlight.
Lucid Fall releases his 11th full-length album, 'Another Place,' today (the 7th) at 6 p.m. on various music platforms.
'Another Place' is the first full-length album Lucid Fall has presented in about three years since the full-length album 'Voice and Guitar,' released in November 2022. Lucid Fall personally took charge of the lyrics and composition as well as the arrangements, mixing and vinyl mastering, adding care throughout the album. With sincere lyrics once and deeply resonant melodies twice, Lucid Fall is expected to move listeners' hearts.
The title track 'The Person Who Became a Flower' is a simple love song that anyone can easily relate to and lightly enjoy. Lyrics that make listeners think about the essence of love are repeated, prompting a profound reflection on love.
In addition, 'Another Place' includes 'Pietà,' which depicts an earth nearing dystopia as an ensemble of four guitarists with different colors dramatically frames a vocal that seems to cry out; 'Heart,' which impressively captures the feelings everyone has with lyrics and achieves an organic blend of 1970s psychedelic folk colors; 'Song of the old olive tree,' which symbolically reveals the confusion and anxiety of reality with a sound texture where tension intersects through a bridge of changing meters amid unique key changes and bold irregular tunings; and 'Lighthouse keeper,' which uses cassette and reel tape to create a dreamy yet vintage sound that wishes for everyone enduring hard times to hold hope and stand in solidarity.
Also included is 'Água,' a Portuguese version of 'A Dream of Becoming Water,' released in 2005, which preserves the lyrical sensibility of the original while creating a wholly new sound through the rhythms and intonations of Portuguese; 'Narcissus,' a warm confession for someone who has endured winter and welcomes the spring of dazzling sunlight together, featuring Argentine rhythm performance; 'Les Misérables Part 3,' a continuation 16 years after 'Les Misérables Part 1, 2,' released in 2009, which highlights passionate guitar playing; and 'Spring equinox,' whose lyrics quote the Japanese poet Kaneko Misuzu's 'Toward the bright side' over explosive drums and percussion, delivering an even clearer hopeful message — nine tracks in total are included.
In this way, 'Another Place' is an album that projects moments of light and shadow that exist throughout life, delivering a message of encouragement to those who, together in tracks where different landscapes and dramatic emotions intersect, hold hope and solidarity and reach the present and 'another place.'
In particular, to achieve sincere music and meticulous composition, many accomplished international musicians lent major support, raising the album's level of completion. Highlights include technical performances by Spanish guitarist Pau Figueres, who won the indie music critics' award for best folk album with his debut and has performed at the Latin Grammy Awards; Mariano "Tiki" Cantero, drummer and percussionist of the Argentine jazz trio Aca Seca Trio; Brazilian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Chico Bernardes; and Spanish drummer Dídak Fernández.
Moreover, the mastering of 'Another Place' attracted attention as it was handled by Brian Lucey, who has collaborated with Michael Bublé and Lizzo and served as the mastering engineer for the Grammy-winning film The Greatest Showman soundtrack.
Meanwhile, after releasing the full-length album 'Another Place' today (the 7th) at 6 p.m. on various music platforms, Lucid Fall will hold solo concerts titled 2025 Lucid Fall 11th album release concert 'Another Place' for three days from the 28th to the 30th at Ewha Womans University ECC Yeongsan Theater in Seoul. He plans to meet the audience with a set list that fully reflects Lucid Fall's stories, including new songs from 'Another Place.'
