The group LE SSERAFIM's single album 1st EP "SPAGHETTI" swept global charts and is drawing attention from major foreign media.
On Oct. 24, LE SSERAFIM (Kim Chaewon, Sakura, Heo Yoonjin, Kazuha, Hong Eunchae) released the single album 1st EP "SPAGHETTI." The title track of the same name entered both of the world's two major pop charts — the U.K. "Official Singles Top 100" (No. 46) and the U.S. music trade Billboard's main song chart the "Hot 100" (No. 50) — achieving a career high.
Foreign media have also focused on LE SSERAFIM's rise. U.S. fashion magazine PAPER Magazine praised, "LE SSERAFIM shows intensity, playfulness and self-assurance with their single album 1st EP. The lively percussion, bright melody and the group's charm that moves between toughness and delicacy combine to create a spicy song." It added, "They understand that music is performance art and that each activity must have its own character. "SPAGHETTI" is a work that embodies that philosophy."
U.S. Billboard and Teen Vogue described the new release as "a delicious collaboration completed by LE SSERAFIM, who are continuing a blazing run, and BTS's J-Hope," and "LE SSERAFIM's most humorous and whimsical album." U.S. Grammy.com selected "SPAGHETTI (feat. j-hope of BTS)" as one of the "Songs of the Week," alongside tracks by Selena Gomez and Megan Thee Stallion.
Billboard Philippines said, "'SPAGHETTI' is an album that shows LE SSERAFIM's new challenge. It interprets the members' boldness as 'flavor' and fills it with wit and confidence. They have become a group that not only performs well on stage but also wonderfully digests the quirky subject of 'spaghetti.'" It praised their wide musical spectrum, adding, "This music instantly draws listeners in and wraps them like spaghetti. This is the 'delicious addiction' LE SSERAFIM intended."
"SPAGHETTI (feat. j-hope of BTS)" has been streamed more than 2 million times daily on the world's largest music streaming platform Spotify from its release through Nov. 4. In particular, it has steadily remained in the "Top 10," ranking No. 6 on Korea's "Daily Top Songs" chart (Nov. 4).
