Group SEVENTEEN special unit S.Coups X Mingyu teamed up with rising American star Flo Milli.
According to HYBE Music Group label PLEDIS Entertainment Co., S.Coups X Mingyu released today (7th) at 2 p.m. the remix version of the title track from their mini album 1, '5, 4, 3 (Pretty woman) (feat. Flo Milli)'. Based on the original's upbeat disco sound, Flo Milli, a rising hip-hop artist from the United States, contributed a feature that added a fresh sensibility.
The original track featuring Lay Bankz shows a different charm. While Lay Bankz showcased his presence with sharp rap, Flo Milli added listening pleasure with a smooth, bouncy flow. The meaning of "beauty," interpreted by the two artists from different perspectives, is also another point to appreciate when listening to the song.
Flo Milli was named one of Billboard's "top 10 hottest female rappers". Her 2023 song "Never Lose Me" reached No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 and achieved global success. Her first mixtape "Ho, why is you here" not only entered the Billboard 200, but was also included in Rolling Stone's list of the "200 greatest hip-hop albums of all time."
The original "5, 4, 3 (Pretty woman) (feat. Lay Bankz)" was widely loved, reaching No. 1 on domestic music charts and ranking high on the "Worldwide iTunes Songs" chart when it was released on Sept. 9. S.Coups X Mingyu's mini album 1, "HYPE VIBES," which includes this song, achieved first-week sales that far exceeded 880,000 copies, setting a new record for the highest sales for a K-pop unit album.
S.Coups X Mingyu have also shown influence in the U.S., the home of pop. The mini album reached the highest position ever for a K-pop unit album on the Billboard 200. Thanks to the enthusiastic support for the record, the members entered the "emerging artist" chart, which highlights new artists gaining global attention, at No. 1 and remained on the chart for three consecutive weeks.
