'Brave Detective4' tracks a mysterious attempted rape and murder case.
The 57th episode of T-cast E Channel's Brave Detective4 (directed by Lee Ji-seon), which airs on the 7th, features detective Park Nohwan and former police superintendent Yoon Oechul of the forensic investigation team (KCSI), and inspector Kim Jinsu, who grant appearances and reveal investigation logs they personally resolved.
The case introduced in this episode began when a single report was received at 112. The report came from a one-room unit in an old dwelling, and the scene had blood splattered on all sides, tangled appliances and household items, and a woman was found dead. The victim was wearing a vest over her top, but had no underwear on her lower body, and bruises were clear on her face. A stranger's underwear was left beside the body, suggesting the perpetrator attempted a sexual crime against the victim and committed brutal assault.
Genetic analysis showed the same unknown male DNA was detected from bloodstains found at the scene and from the male underwear. Based on this, the investigative team examined the victim's call records and the surrounding area, but could not find the owner of the DNA.
Moreover, the victim's residence was in a sparsely populated area undergoing redevelopment, with almost no CCTV, which caused major difficulties in the investigation. Detectives persuaded residents to collect DNA one by one and compare it, but the perpetrator was not caught even after two weeks.
Then, 20 days after the incident, a decisive tip came in. A taxi driver said he had picked up a young man appearing to be in his 20s to 30s near the victim's house; the man had dried blood on his forehead and was suspiciously wearing women's pants. Whether this man is truly the culprit and the full story of the attempted rape and murder can be confirmed on 'Brave Detective4'.
