'Problem Child in House' actress Jeong Ae-ri expressed gratitude about battling ovarian cancer.
On the 6th episode of KBS2TV variety show 'Problem Child in House', actress Jeong Ae-ri appeared. Jeong Ae-ri, who once announced her fight with ovarian cancer and temporarily suspended activities. However, her condition had been deteriorating even before that. Jeong Ae-ri said, "In the past I did dramas, musicals and radio. I was practicing a musical but my stomach hurt so much. I took painkillers and performed on stage, but when I got home my body wouldn't move. Luckily my older sister came and we went to the emergency room and it was peritonitis," and added, "How foolish I was; I endured things too well. They said my appendix had burst and 24 hours had passed. The doctor said he had never seen so much inflammation before."
Afterward, when Jeong Ae-ri went to hear about the surgical progress, she was guided to the gynecology ward in the cancer unit. While operating for peritonitis, the hospital discovered Jeong Ae-ri's ovarian cancer. Jeong Ae-ri said she referred a lot to how Hong Jin Kyung, who had suffered earlier, treated her ovarian cancer.
Hong Jin Kyung said, "This cancer survives if it is discovered when something else has ruptured, like with Jeong Ae-ri or me. Jeong Ae-ri had peritonitis, and I went to have a uterine cyst removed, and the doctor there, just in case, did a biopsy and found out it was ovarian cancer," which surprised everyone.
