Tablo, who produced the new song for the group KiiiKiii (Jiyu, Isol, Sui, Ha-eum, Kiya), revealed his work process and mentioned his daughter Haru.
Recently KiiiKiii released five videos on its official social media featuring Tablo's candid interviews about the new song "To Me From Me," which was released on the 4th.
In the videos, Tablo discussed a range of topics related to the song, from methods for maintaining mental health to the meaning of 24 hours in a day, the origin of the title "To Me From Me," and behind-the-scenes songwriting stories with his daughter Haru.
On maintaining his mental health, he candidly said, "There were many days when I did not want to be myself, but I also thought it was fortunate that this happened to me and not someone else. I've been through a lot."
He described the 24 hours of a day as "an opportunity to start anew," saying, "Every morning you get a lottery ticket. You can hold on to hope about whether the ticket is a winner until you check. So when I open my eyes I think, 'This 24 hours is a lottery for me.'"
In particular, Tablo drew attention by revealing that the title of KiiiKiii's new song "To Me From Me" originated from a conversation with his daughter Haru. He explained, "I asked Haru what has been hardest lately, and she said that when she talks to adults about her worries they offer solutions instead of empathy, and when she talks to friends everyone has the same worries so it's hard to tell others. So I thought, 'Ah, I need to tell myself the things I need,' and that's where 'To Me From Me' came to mind."
He added that KiiiKiii's youngest member Kiya is the same age as Haru, which helped him greatly in the work because it made him think, 'Kids carry these thoughts and worries and endure.'
Finally, Tablo added, "Haru is a child who, after crying and unloading about hard things, soon dances," and said, "I think this song's lyrics can be a bit heavy, but it's really exciting — a song you can cry to and then dance to."
KiiiKiii's new song "To Me From Me," produced by Tablo, blends confessional lyrics with an upbeat sound, showcasing KiiiKiii's frankness and Tablo's distinctive melancholic sensibility. KiiiKiii launched a collaborative web novel with Kakao Entertainment that shares the same universe, "Dear. X: The me of tomorrow to the me of today," alongside the release of "To Me From Me," offering a special experience through the synergy of music and web fiction. In the work, the five members transform into colorful characters, complete various quests and depict a journey back to their original world.
