The group TWS (TWS) is stepping up its global activities by appearing at Japan's representative year-end music festival.
On the 6th, HYBE music group label PLEDIS Entertainment Co. said TWS (Shin-yu, Do-hun, Young-jae, Han-jin, Ji-hoon, Kyung-min) was named to the lineup for Fuji TV's "2025 FNS Music Festival," which will air on Dec. 3.
"FNS Music Festival" is counted among Japan's representative year-end special programs along with "Kohaku Uta Gassen." TWS confirmed appearances on this stage for a second consecutive year, proving their strong local popularity.
Last year TWS left an impression with their "K-clear" energy, and their new year-end stage is highly anticipated. Their debut song "First meeting didn't go as planned," which they performed at the 2024 FNS Music Festival last year, drew major attention for its perfect "knife-edge" synchronization and fresh, invigorating charm. Having shown even more explosive growth this year, interest is already growing in what kind of performance TWS will use to captivate local audiences.
TWS's popularity in Japan has been steadily climbing. Their Japanese debut single released in July, "Nice to see you again (original title はじめまして/はじめまして)," exceeded cumulative sales of 250,000 copies and earned the Japan Record Association's gold disc "platinum" certification. "First meeting didn't go as planned" surpassed 50 million cumulative streams as of Sept., earning a streaming "gold" certification. This is the only achievement among K-pop boy groups that debuted after 2024, showcasing TWS's distinctive presence.
Their recently released fourth mini album "play hard" also continued their momentum by ranking near the top of the latest Oricon "weekly album ranking" and Billboard Japan's "top album sales."
In particular, TWS has been receiving love calls from major local festivals for their energetic performances. In Sept., they performed at Japan's largest music festival, "Rock in Japan Festival 2025 (ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2025)," and on Dec. 27 they will appear at the year-end flagship festival "Countdown Japan 25/26 (COUNTDOWN JAPAN 25
