Group Billlie member Siyoon is making her Hollywood debut with her screen debut.
Siyoon has secured a role in the Hollywood film Perfect Girl, a K-pop thriller, marking a new step as an actress beyond her music activities.
Perfect Girl is a work that depicts the desires and anxieties that trainees who dream of becoming K-pop stars experience amid fierce competition, and the mysterious incidents that occur within that, centered on a girl who appears one day, with shocking developments and unpredictable tension that are expected to captivate audiences. The screenplay was written by Lynn Q. Yu, who was selected for the 2023 Hollywood Black List (most anticipated projects), Hong Won-ki of Jannibros, who directed Zombie Hunter, Seoul Ghost Stories, and Gwishi, directed the film, and Badlands and Thunder Road Film produced it.
Siyoon is expected to expand the delicate emotional expression and immersion she built on stage to the screen, vividly portraying a character's psychology shaken by passion for music, anxiety, and unexpected events. In particular, because Siyoon previously collaborated with Jannibros on Billlie's signature music videos such as GingaMingaYo (the strange world) and Patbingsu, expectations are high that their sensibilities will align again to produce a highly polished synergy in this work.
The film raises expectations further by co-starring Hollywood actor Adeline Rudolph, who is set to play Kitana in Mortal Kombat 2, and Arden Cho, the lead of the Netflix global hit animated series K-Pop Demon Hunters. Siyoon is expected to heighten the film's suspense by portraying subtle tensions and emotional lines intertwined with global actors.
Siyoon formed the first unit within Billlie with fellow member Moon Sua, and proved global popularity by entering the top ranks of the iTunes K-POP top charts in 10 countries with the title track SNAP (feat. sokodomo). Recently, she participated in the collaboration song WoW (Way of Winning) (with Moon Sua X Siyoon) with Mystic Story junior group ARrC, showing an expanded musical spectrum, and Billlie, the group to which Siyoon belongs, appeared on Apple TV+ KPOPPED last September, performing on stage with Patty LaBelle and Megan Thee Stallion and clearly establishing their presence on the global stage.
