'Dynamite Kiss' director Kim Jae-hyun reunited with actor Jang Ki-yong and explained why he cast him.
On the 5th, at the new Wednesday-Thursday drama 'Dynamite Kiss' (written by Ha Yoon-ah, Tae Kyung-min / directed by Kim Jae-hyun, Kim Hyun-woo / produced by Studio S, Samhwa Networks) production presentation was held at the SBS building in Mok-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul. At the production presentation, director Kim Jae-hyun, along with actors Jang Ki-yong, Ahn Eun-jin, Kim Mu-jun, and Woo Da-bi attended and talked about the work.
'Dynamite Kiss' is a mutual anguish romance between a single woman who disguised herself as a mother to get a job for a living and the head of team who fell in love with her. It depicts an exhilarating, intense dopamine-exploding romance that begins with a kiss.
Director Kim Jae-hyun reunited with Jang Ki-yong for the second time after 'Now, We Are Breaking Up,' which aired in 2021. Kim said the reason he cast Jang Ki-yong as Gong Ji-hyeok was, "When Jang Ki-yong acted in 'Now, We Are Breaking Up,' we had a brief connection. I really wanted to work together, and I thought the character Gong Ji-hyeok was the same as the Jang Ki-yong I know."
Kim continued, "He has a very aristocratic appearance and projects a urbane image, but hidden within is an innocent, boyish charm. That purity, that innocence—this is the core of the Gong Ji-hyeok character. I thought no one but Jang Ki-yong could portray it."
Meanwhile, SBS's new Wednesday-Thursday drama 'Dynamite Kiss' will premiere Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 9 p.m.
