Actress Kyung Soo-jin voiced resentment toward singer Sung Si-kyung.
Kyung Soo-jin recently released a short titled "Senior Sung Si-kyung, this is too much" on her YouTube channel "Drunk Kyung Soo-jin." In the content, Kyung Soo-jin visited and introduced restaurants that had been her "neighborhood favorites." The tour was of the eateries in Sindang-dong, Seoul, where Kyung Soo-jin lived when she appeared on the MBC variety show Home Alone.
For her first meal Kyung Soo-jin chose soondae guk. She described the place as "a restaurant rumored to be a Sung Si-kyung favorite," and complained, "I was really upset. There used to be no line. So I knew it only for myself. But after senior Sung Si-kyung visited it became too well known."
At the same time Kyung Soo-jin showed affection, saying, "But it's so good that I'll stand in line to eat it."
Next, the place Kyung Soo-jin visited was also a restaurant Sung Si-kyung had introduced on YouTube. Kyung Soo-jin mentioned, "There's also a cuttlefish shop," and the production team said, "That's another place introduced by Sung Si-kyung."
Kyung Soo-jin said, "How resentful I was!!! He introduced all the restaurants I used to go to. They were places I wanted to keep to myself…" expressing her resentment toward Sung Si-kyung again, attracting attention. Kyung Soo-jin added, "I went there before it became known. But it was already famous then and people were lining up. It was originally famous."
Kyung Soo-jin's content has drawn attention along with the incident in which Sung Si-kyung was reportedly "betrayed" by a former manager who had worked with him for more than 10 years. Coincidentally, the issue broke and Sung Si-kyung announced a one-week suspension of YouTube activity around the same time the short was released.
Earlier on the 3rd, Sung Si-kyung's agency SK Jaewon said, "It has been confirmed that the former manager engaged in actions that betrayed the company's trust during the course of employment. An internal investigation is under way to recognize the seriousness of the matter and determine the exact scope of the damage. The employee has since left the company," the agency said in an official statement.
Sung Si-kyung also posted a long message on social media that day, writing, "To be honest, the past few months have been a continuous period of anguish and hardship for me. Experiencing a breach of trust from someone I trusted and cared for like family is not the first time since my 25-year debut, but it's not easy even at this age," he wrote, expressing his devastating feelings directly.
Sung Si-kyung said, "I tried to maintain daily life and pretended to be okay because I didn't want to trouble people or fall apart, but while handling YouTube and scheduled concerts I felt my body, mind and voice deteriorate," and he expressed concern about year-end performances. Later, Sung said he would suspend YouTube activities for a week.
