Actor Lee Si-young gave birth to a daughter conceived through in vitro fertilization after her divorce.
On the 5th, Lee Si-young announced the news of her delivery on her social account. Lee Si-young wrote, "I think this is a gift from God given to mom, and I will make sure to keep [my son] Jeong-yun and her happily strong for life."
She went on to say, "Professor, thank you so much. I will live without forgetting that grateful feeling," she said. Lee Si-young, who showed no swelling that would make it hard to believe she had just given birth, held her daughter and smiled brightly while wearing a mask to prevent infection, perhaps for the baby's sake.
In the comments, Lee Si-young's friends offered support and congratulations. Actress Ki Eun-se and comedian Kim Min-kyung, among others, encouraged Lee Si-young, saying, "So beautiful," and "Si-young, congratulations~ you worked hard."
Internet users expressed overwhelming emotion, saying, "It must have been hard to get pregnant and give birth on your own, but we support you," "Watching Lee Si-young participate in marathons until her due month, I really think she will become a strong mother," and "How wonderful that son Jeong-yun now has a precious younger sister."
Meanwhile, Lee Si-young divorced the restaurateur she married in 2017 after eight years of marriage. Afterwards, Lee Si-young drew attention by deciding to pursue pregnancy and childbirth alone due to issues with the frozen embryo storage period.
