RM posted two complete family photos on the 5th without any comment.
The released photos show a harmonious family including RM, his parents, and his younger sister. RM wore a stylish suit, his younger sister wore a cute miniskirt with long straight hair, and their kind-faced parents drew attention with affectionate poses. In particular, RM and his younger sister, who look exactly alike, confirmed they are lookalike siblings. In addition, RM's family wore matching casual tracksuits for a group shot, creating a cheerful atmosphere.
Meanwhile, RM recently served as the keynote speaker for the culture session at the 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) held in Gyeongju. This is the first time a K-pop singer has taken the stage at the APEC CEO Summit.
That day RM delivered a roughly 10-minute speech in front of about 500 audience members on the topic "Cultural creative industries in the APEC region and the soft power of K-culture (from the creator's perspective)." He said, "From a creator's perspective, I want to talk about how K-culture has crossed borders and moved people's hearts," and conveyed the meaning of cultural solidarity and inclusion created by K-pop and the Korean wave.
At the start of his speech RM said, "I am honored to meet you, the leaders of APEC, in the Republic of Korea where I was born and raised." He said he felt "pride and anticipation as one creator" about culture being addressed as a core agenda at APEC for the first time this year.
He went on, "K-pop is not just music but a 360-degree package of music, dance, visuals and storytelling. While embracing Western musical elements such as hip-hop, R&B and EDM, it contains Korea's unique aesthetics and sensibility," and compared the characteristics of K-culture to "bibimbap," saying, "When different elements keep their unique colors and come together as one, they create new value. Because we preserved Korea's identity while respecting the world's diversity, K-pop could be loved."
