Agency issues official statement on actress Lee Si-young's second daughter.
On the night of the 5th, agency Ace Factory told OSEN, "Actress Lee Si-young recently gave birth to a daughter. Both the mother and the child are currently stable," in an official statement.
They also added, "After sufficient recovery of her health, actress Lee Si-young will resume activities," heightening expectations for Lee Si-young's return.
On the evening of the same day, Lee Si-young announced the birth of her second daughter, nicknamed Ssikssik (working name), on her personal social media. She drew attention by posting photos of herself holding her second child at the hospital and photos from the postpartum care center.
Earlier, Lee Si-young married a restaurateur nine years her senior in 2017. The couple had a first son, Jeong-yun, but finalized their divorce procedures this March, eight years after their marriage.
In the process, the storage period for embryos frozen during the marriage in preparation for a second child was approaching disposal, but Lee Si-young implanted the embryo despite her ex-husband's lack of consent. After becoming pregnant, she announced her second pregnancy last July. Her ex-husband did not consent but said he would fulfill his obligations as the biological father.
