Actor Jeon Yeo-bin spoke about her chemistry with Jang Yoon-ju.
Recently, at a café in Gangnam District, Seoul, an interview was held with Jeon Yeo-bin, the lead actor of the Genie TV original series "The Good Woman Boo Se-mi".
The series "The Good Woman Boo Se-mi," which concluded on the 3rd, is a crime romance drama about a low-income female bodyguard who, with only three months left until her life reset, dreams of a big break and enters a contract marriage with a terminally ill chaebol chairman, then must change her identity and survive for three months while avoiding those who are after the vast inheritance.
Jeon Yeo-bin delivered a passionate performance as Kim Young-ran, a character who, having endured various hardships in an unfortunate family environment, believes money can change a person's life.
In particular, Jeon Yeo-bin faced off with Jang Yoon-ju, who played Ga Seon-young, the embodiment of greed, and who exuded a chilling charisma, showcasing explosive chemistry.
Jeon Yeo-bin began by saying, "Senior Yoon-ju called me several days before a scene, even the day before, and asked, 'Yeo-bin ah, how are you preparing?' That was the first time a senior did that for me."
She continued, "I think we wondered together how we could best complete the scenes. Before important scene shoots, we talked for about an hour and a half to two hours. But it wasn't just about the shoot; later we talked about what we think about actors and about acting. That process itself was enjoyable. It felt like people craving something in an invisible world were sharing stories."
She said, "My older sister used to say that in modeling, the moment you are photographed or step on stage you immediately feel a thrill. You feel with your whole body that you are a natural model and that you have talent. But acting is not an art where you create that moment alone. So in the end, she said she had decided to accept the fate of wandering without a clear path. We talked about accepting that as the path of an actor."
Jeon Yeo-bin added, "Maybe because my sister is a model or because she has innate talent, even when she stands still something overwhelmingly radiates from her. Having worked for such a long time, she is exceptionally talented at designing how to make Ga Seon-young powerful. Compared to my sister, I am shorter and smaller, so I wanted to oppose her with my eyes."
