The group LE SSERAFIM is establishing itself as the 'dominant 4th-generation girl group' following predecessors BLACKPINK and TWICE. LE SSERAFIM is making its presence felt by showing clear activity in North America, the world's largest music market, beyond the domestic music market.
LE SSERAFIM successfully completed its first North American tour with all seats sold out and with the new song "SPAGHETTI (feat. J-hope of BTS)" once again broke into the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. They rewrote their own highest ranking and secured the position of 'successor to BLACKPINK and TWICE.'
LE SSERAFIM's "SPAGHETTI (feat. J-hope of BTS)" ranked No. 50 on Billboard's main song chart the Hot 100 (Nov. 8 issue), announced on the 4th (local time). This is LE SSERAFIM's best result to date. In addition, it rose to No. 6 on the Global 200 and No. 3 on the Global (excluding U.S.), entering the top 10 on both charts simultaneously for the first time for the team.
Through their agency Source Music, LE SSERAFIM said, "Things we considered impossible seem to be coming true thanks to PEEONA (official fandom). We thank everyone who helped us achieve good results, and LE SSERAFIM will do our best with responsibility and humility. We also thank senior J-Hope for accompanying us."
LE SSERAFIM, which has steadily stood out on global charts since debut, is continuing a solid career in the North American market as well. This year they successfully completed a North American tour that sold out in seven cities — Newark, Chicago, Grand Prairie, Inglewood, San Francisco, Seattle and Las Vegas — laying an important foundation to expand their popularity.
At the time, The Seattle Times praised LE SSERAFIM's performance, saying, "The five members dominated the stage and exuded a powerful aura. Numerous audience members sang their songs in unison and waved light sticks in unison, creating an overwhelming spectacle."
In particular, LE SSERAFIM's consecutive personal bests on the Billboard Hot 100 are more notable because they show the group's growth. LE SSERAFIM previously entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 99 with the title track "EASY" from mini album 3 last year. Starting with that first chart entry after debut, the title track "CRAZY" from mini album 4 also entered the Hot 100 at No. 76, achieving back-to-back chart entries.
Following "EASY" and "CRAZY," "SPAGHETTI" again broke into the Hot 100 and raised their own highest ranking. Above all, it was a more meaningful record because they were increasingly achieving results that surpassed previous rankings, proving LE SSERAFIM's growth. In addition, they already hold the distinction of being the only 4th-generation girl group to enter the Billboard 200 top 10 four consecutive times.
Thus LE SSERAFIM has proven it is the 'dominant 4th-generation girl group' in the North American market while firmly imprinting the presence of K-pop girl groups that follow BLACKPINK and TWICE. BLACKPINK and TWICE are regarded as K-pop girl groups that early on showed clear activity in the North American market. However, since then, groups that show sustained results like those have been rare, and expectations are growing that LE SSERAFIM is following BLACKPINK and TWICE with a steady upward trend.
