Model Moon Gabi (36), who revealed actor Jung Woo-sung's out-of-wedlock son, appealed for people to stop creating artificial intelligence (AI) composites that used her son's photo without permission.
Moon Gabi said on Instagram on the 5th, "On the 30th, I shared a few photos to update how I've been," adding, "They were photos of an ordinary day for a mother and son, showing the child, but I have never made public anywhere any photo or video that shows my child's face as is."
She went on, "Nonetheless, an account that has nothing to do with me used the photos I posted without consent to make them illegally, and a post went up as if I had revealed my child's face and left an interview-style official comment."
She added, "The images of me and my child in that video, and the caption added below it, are clearly false," and, "It is an AI (artificial intelligence) composite video produced by using the original photos without permission," and, "Including false photos and videos that are not my child's actual appearance, these law-violating acts that distort the daily life of a mother and child—please refrain from them any further."
On the 30th, Moon Gabi posted several photos taken with her son on Instagram. The released photos showed Moon Gabi wearing matching outfits with her son and smiling, and holding hands as they walked together. Although her son's face was not shown, controversy arose as AI composites using those photos spread.
