Actor Kim Min-joon revealed the backstory of why he showed his son Eden's face.
On the 3rd, the Channel A 'Close Friends Tokyumentary - Four-person table' aired, where actor Park Joong-hoon invited his close friends Heo Jae and Kim Min-joon to his home.
That day, when asked what kind of father he is, Kim Min-joon said, "Personally I'm running a small business so I can spend a lot of personal time. These days kids catch colds a lot, don't they. I drive them and take them to the hospital and the kid asked, 'Dad. What exactly is your job?' I wanted to tell him exactly and explained in detail, but I was breaking out in a sweat," he said, sharing a private hardship.
In response, Park Kyung-rim said, "Jiyong really adores his nephew. When you see what he sometimes posts on social media," and mentioned his brother-in-law G-Dragon. Since the nephew was born, G-Dragon has consistently posted photos on social media, showing his boundless affection.
Kim Min-joon revealed a twist, saying, "Actually when my child was born I declared that when the child grows up and has discernment we would let him decide whether to reveal his face. I thought that's the role we should protect. So everyone unanimously agreed and we absolutely didn't post, but suddenly my brother-in-law started posting first."
Park Kyung-rim was surprised and asked, "But the parents agreed to that?" Kim Min-joon laughed and said, "(When G-Dragon) started posting I resisted fiercely. I said, 'We agreed not to post, why are you posting?' and he said, 'I didn't hear that?' So it became widely known."
Meanwhile, when asked, "In the family the father is an actor, the mother is a fashion designer, and the maternal uncle is a world-famous singer. Which side will Eden's talent lean toward?" Kim Min-joon said, "Personally I hope he resembles his uncle," while adding, "Whatever it is, he'll probably do well."
When asked, "Do you see any signs? Does he have a sense of rhythm?" he said, "I don't know yet. But my mother-in-law is in a way a star maker. She carried Jiyong around from a young age, so her eye is precise. The kid seems to have some talent, so I asked my mother-in-law. I asked, 'What do you think? Compared to Jiyong at that age, how is he?' She said, 'Jiyong had much more talent.' I thought, 'So it's not that,'" he said, expressing regret and drawing laughter.
Meanwhile, Kim Min-joon married fashion designer Kwon Da-mi, well known as G-Dragon's older sister, in 2019 and embraced son Eden in 2022.<
