Actor Kim Min-joon shared the behind-the-scenes story of his son Eden's face being revealed and recounted an unexpected family episode. But an untimely debate has become a hot topic.
On the March 3 broadcast of Channel A "Close friends tokyumentary–four-person dining table," invited by actor Park Joong-hoon, Hur Jae and Kim Min-joon were together, and Kim Min-joon said, "These days, running a private business, I have a lot of time with my child," and laughed as he confessed, "One day we were going to the hospital and my son said, 'Dad, what is your job?' It made me nervous to explain it precisely."
When MC Park Kyung-rim asked, "Jiyong (G-Dragon) really doted on his nephew. Doesn't he post him on social media often?" Kim Min-joon said, "Actually when the child was born the family agreed, 'Let's reveal the face when the child can judge for himself,'" and added, "But suddenly my brother-in-law started posting photos first."
He said, "So I protested, saying, 'We agreed not to post,' and Jiyong replied, 'I didn't hear anything about that,'" and added, "That's how the face became known to the world," drawing laughter.
Asked, "Eden is being raised between a father who is an actor, a mother who is a designer, and an uncle who is a world-famous singer — what talents does he show?" he answered, "I hope he resembles his uncle, but he'll probably be good at anything." He continued jokingly, "I asked my mother-in-law and she said, 'Jiyong was much more naturally gifted,'" and chuckled.
However, after the broadcast, some internet users were divided between the opinion that "revealing the child's face to the public when the parents did not want it should have been handled more carefully" and the reaction that "since G-Dragon said he 'didn't hear about it,' it's just a simple mishap."
Netizens continued with responses such as "It's regrettable that a private family agreement became known and escalated into an unnecessary controversy," "Let's not overinterpret it," and "The fact that it becomes an issue itself is likely a burden on the family."
