Actor Pyo Ye-jin is drawing attention by previewing the even more spectacular activities of "action Go-eun" ahead of the airing of SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama "Taxi Driver 3."
SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama Taxi Driver 3 (written by Oh Sang-ho, directed by Kang Bo-seung) is a series based on the webtoon of the same name, about the veiled taxi company Rainbow Transportation and taxi driver Kim Do-gi completing revenge on behalf of wronged victims as a private revenge agency. The previous season not only ranked fifth (21%) in ratings among all terrestrial and cable dramas aired in Korea since 2023, but also won the best drama series award at the 28th Asian Television Awards (ATA), Asia's most prestigious media awards, last year, raising expectations for the new season of the proven mega-hit IP Taxi Driver.
Meanwhile, Pyo Ye-jin, who renewed her career-best role as Go-eun, the genius hacker of Rainbow Transportation, expressed special feelings about joining the full cast for season 3. Pyo Ye-jin said, "Since around the end of season 2, many people have been asking about this season. Thanks to that, I greatly feel the support and love sent to Taxi Driver. I am always grateful that we can continue the season while receiving much attention in a time when diverse content is pouring out," adding, "I'm even happier that all members of Rainbow Transportation are returning together to greet viewers."
Pyo Ye-jin went on to express gratitude for the warm love received through season 3, saying, "It's sad that endless incidents and accidents happen in reality, but I'm glad that people can feel relieved for a moment and hope for a better tomorrow while watching the contrasting Taxi Driver. Now it feels like people cheer for Rainbow Transportation no matter what they do, so we are filming with a more reassured heart. I sincerely thank you."
At the same time, Pyo Ye-jin drew interest by mentioning Go-eun's upgraded activities after returning in two years. "I have no worries because I trust the director and writer completely and we have our members," Pyo Ye-jin said. "In season 3, I contemplated how to show Go-eun's reliable side. I think, as in previous seasons, Go-eun is a team member who works well with everyone and has become a much more dependable presence who prepares and creates the way forward even without being told," adding, "You will also see Go-eun's impressive action and activities, so please show a lot of interest."
Above all, Pyo Ye-jin expressed special affection for the "Rainbow five" reunited for the third season: Lee Je-hoon (Kim Do-gi), Kim Eui-sung (Representative Jang), Jang Hyuk-jin (Senior Manager Choi), and Bae Yoo-ram (Senior Manager Park). She said, "When we filmed the basement maintenance room meeting scene with all five members, I especially felt the strong chemistry among the members. Even without prior consultation or rehearsal, our timing is so good. When I feel that we enrich a scene by exchanging lines with each other, it feels so reassuring and enjoyable," praising their sharpened teamwork and heightening curiosity about how explosive the Rainbow five's activities will be in season 3.
Pyo Ye-jin also hinted at the Dogi–Go-eun relationship that drew strong responses in previous seasons, focusing attention. In the drama, Do-gi and Go-eun provide a different kind of fun within the Taxi Driver universe with an interesting relationship that swings between camaraderie and romance. Pyo Ye-jin said, "I'm so grateful that you cherish the relationship between the two. Do-gi is still the most trusted and relied-on strong presence for Go-eun. I think you will continue to see the two people's precious relationship, who are always closest to each other and give each other strength," raising curiosity about the Do-gi–Go-eun relationship in season 3, which will show even stronger chemistry.
Finally, Pyo Ye-jin emphasized the viewing points of Taxi Driver, saying, "The scale has become much bigger than before, and each episode is completed as a more wonderful and rich story because excellent actors join us." In particular, she said, "As an ardent fan who likes the refreshing car action in Taxi Driver, in this season you will see even more glamorous and cool action. I am also looking forward to the various action scenes that will unfold in Taxi Driver 3," amplifying curiosity about the more dynamic Taxi Driver 3–style action.
