"Another private life controversy?" Kim Jun-young flatly denies allegations of visiting entertainment establishments…past club visit controversy "Exhuma"
Musical actor Kim Jun-young strongly denied allegations that he visited entertainment establishments, calling them "baseless." But as the past controversy over his club visit was revived, confusing reactions asking "what is the truth?" continued online.
On the 3rd, agency HJ Culture said in an official statement, "The allegations related to actor Kim Jun-young that are currently being raised online are completely false," and emphasized, "We make clear that there were no illegal acts of any kind."
Recently, controversy spread after it became known that Kim Jun-young suddenly deleted a photo of a receipt he had posted at a restaurant from his account. Some internet users suspected he had visited an illegal entertainment establishment, saying, "The woman's name and the amount written on the receipt are suspicious."
In response, the agency warned, "Those allegations are baseless; stop the reckless speculation and the spread of unverified information," and added, "We will respond firmly, including legal measures, against malicious dissemination of false information and defamation."
However, some people expressed distrust by again mentioning Kim Jun-young's past club visit incident. Five years ago, while appearing in the musical "Ludwig," Kim Jun-young caused controversy by visiting a club despite COVID-19 self-quarantine guidelines being in effect.
At the time, he bowed his head in a handwritten apology, saying, "As an actor with a performance ahead, I acted recklessly," and "I deeply reflect on having caused great disappointment to my fellow actors and the audience." He apologized again, saying, "I will treasure the stages I dreamed of more. I will not repeat the same mistake." Still, fans' disappointment did not subside easily.
When Kim Jun-young's statement on this private life allegation came out, internet user reactions were divided into two camps. Some defended the actor, saying, "Digging into past matters is excessive," "Let's not ruin someone with unverified rumors." On the other hand, others reacted cynically, saying, "They said he was 'reckless' before, and now there's another allegation," and "He lacks image management as a stage actor."
Currently, Kim Jun-young is performing in the musical "Rachmaninoff" and the play "Amadeus," and he is also set to appear in "John Doe," which opens in December. With the agency formalizing legal action, attention is focused on whether he can completely shake off the shadow of the past.<
