"Moon River" cast members Kang Tae-oh, Kim Se-jung, Lee Shin-young and Hong Soo-ju had their couple keywords revealed.
The MBC new Friday-Saturday drama Moon River (writer Jo Seung-hee, director Lee Dong-hyun, abbreviated "Moon River"), which will premiere on the 7th, is a soul-switch role-reversal (易地四肢) romance fantasy historical drama about a crown prince who lost his laughter and a bu-bosang who lost his memory.
The sudden body swap between crown prince I-gang (Kang Tae-oh) and bu-bosang Park Dal-i (Kim Se-jung), and the different romances involving Jeun-daegun I-woon (Lee Shin-young) and Left State Councilor's daughter Kim Woo-hee (Hong Soo-ju), who are deeply entangled between love and ambition, are previewed. With attention focused on the fateful narratives that will shake the eight provinces, the actors portraying these roles picked keywords describing their relationships with the counterpart characters.
First, Kang Tae-oh (playing I-gang) described the romance with Park Dal-i as a "mirror." "Through the soul-switch incident, I-gang and Park Dal-i come to see the world through each other's bodies. In that process, they are not simply objects of affection but recognized as mirror-like beings that reflect each other's true selves and help each discover themselves," he said, reflecting on the meaning of their relationship.
On the other hand, Kim Se-jung (playing Park Dal-i), who offered the witty keyword "soup with rice," added, "The two characters are connected by soup with rice in the drama, and since soup with rice is the Korean people's soul food, the term 'soup with rice' fits the 'Moon River couple (I-gang + Park Dal-i couple)' whose souls are changed." She displayed the playful eloquence befitting her character, a business genius.
Lee Shin-young (playing I-woon), whose keyword for I-woon and Kim Woo-hee was "summer, rain, temperature," described them as "a relationship where they cannot be separated from each other." "I think the temperature difference between rain at night and rain in the daytime on a summer day is like the emotion of love. It can be hot and then cold, cool and then when the rain stops it becomes warm again — that is the relationship between I-woon and Kim Woo-hee," he said, revealing a distinctive sensibility.
Finally, Hong Soo-ju (playing Kim Woo-hee) chose "greenhouse" as her keyword, saying, "For Kim Woo-hee, who lives ambitiously and goal-oriented, I-woon is someone who lets her breathe comfortably. For that Kim Woo-hee, I-woon's greenhouse is a warm place and a symbolic, special place where good memories grow together," making their love line even more anticipated. The first broadcast is on Friday the 7th at 9:50 p.m.
