On the afternoon of the 4th, the final episode of MBC variety show 'Countryside village Lee Jang-woo 2' revealed Lee Jang-woo's efforts to prepare Ganghwa Island's ultimate treasure table.
Visiting Jeondeungsa, a thousand-year-old temple on Ganghwa Island, Lee Jang-woo invited a chef to help for the first time, and Fabri, a Michelin-starred chef with 15 years of experience, appeared. The two immersed themselves in research on Ganghwa Island's seasonal greens, and Lee Jang-woo decided to learn Fabri's style of vegetable dishes. With care and creativity added to ingredients gathered from nature, they completed a special offering table that captivated the palates of the monks and temple staff.
Lee Jang-woo also tried to develop new menu items at his home in Seoul. The person filming Lee Jang-woo cooking in the kitchen was his fiancée Jo Hye-won. Lee Jang-woo explained as he cooked for his fiancée, and Jo Hye-won transformed into a director of photography.
Lee Jang-woo fried a sweet potato jelly pancake, and Jo Hye-won asked, "Should I buy makgeolli?" Lee Jang-woo laughed and said, "Honey~ you shouldn't drink. This is for broadcast," and Jo Hye-won said, "Uwa, it smells great."
Feeding Jo Hye-won the sweet potato jelly pancake he made, Lee Jang-woo showed his affectionate side, and Jo Hye-won suggested, "I think we should fry this like a large pancake and have the elders cut it with scissors to eat. It would be more convenient for the elders to cut it themselves."
Lee Jang-woo showed thoughtfulness by saying, "Take some to your mother and grandmother," and Jo Hye-won praised her fiancé's cooking skills, saying, "The texture is amazing. It's really delicious, how is this possible?"
The next dish to study was turnip kimchi dumpling soup, and Jo Hye-won added an idea, saying, "How about making the seasoning a bit stronger? Honey~ do you remember the place we went to before?"
Also, Jo Hye-won expressed envy, saying, "Honey, you've been to Ganghwa Island a lot lately, right? Take me with you. It would be fun. You go to nice places alone."
Meanwhile, the couple, who have an 8-year age difference, Lee Jang-woo and Jo Hye-won, will hold their wedding on Nov. 23 at a location in Seoul after seven years of dating.
The two became a couple through the 2018 KBS2 drama "My Only One." The couple, who postponed their wedding last year, will finally tie the knot this year.
Jun Hyun-moo will officiate the wedding, Kian84 will emcee, and Hwanhee of Fly to the Sky, Lee Jang-woo's cousin, will perform the congratulatory song.
