Actor Go Jun-hee shared an experience of being detained by customs after returning from an overseas shoot carrying luxury bags.
On the 3rd, a video titled "The Chanel story I bought for 1,200,000 won… revealing it all" was uploaded to the "Go Jun-hee GO" channel.
That day Go Jun-hee took time to introduce the Chanel bags she had collected. She said, "How I started buying Chanel bags with my own money was that in my 20s my parents managed my money and I could only spend 10% of what I earned. Ninety percent was savings. To buy with 10% of what you earn, you have to work like crazy."
She continued, "I don't do mini-series as much now, but there was a time when I only had two to three hours to sleep. I cried because I didn't want to go out. But I would think, 'If I get up now I can buy a Chanel bag,' and when I got up my eyes would really open. My best bag was Chanel. From then on I would think, 'If I get up now I can buy a Chanel bag,' and I started saving 10% and buying one every few years." she shared memories tied to Chanel bags.
She then showed the first Chanel bag she bought with her own money, not one her parents bought. She said, "I carried this during my Joo Joo sister days. Did I buy it at 23? The first one wasn't that significant because of the story. And after that I saved money and started buying things for my parents and then for myself, so I don't really remember my first luxury item. To be honest."
But Go Jun-hee recalled a special episode, saying, "This one has a history too." She said, "Because I bought this I carried it everywhere. I even took this to a shoot in India, I think. I confidently carried it in. But it got caught (by customs). At Incheon Airport. They told me to come. I said I bought this at Galleria but they asked to see the receipt. The flight arrived at 6 a.m., and you can't call Galleria department store at 6 a.m., right?" she recounted the unfair situation.
She added, "Then some older officials came and recognized it. When they asked if I was coming back from a shoot I said, no, really not. At that time the makeup artist cursed me out hard, saying, 'Why did you bring a Chanel bag to the set?'" she shared, drawing laughter.
