On the 2nd episode of TV CHOSUN's "Sikgaek Heo Yeong-man's Baekban Journey" (hereafter "Baekban Journey"), the program showed Mimi of Oh My Girl, who has become a variety show sensation, traveling to Hoengseong, Gangwon Province, on a food trip.
That day Heo Yeong-man said, "While filming 'Baekban Journey' I think today might be the first time I won't be called teacher," expressing his expectation. Mimi, who appeared just then, shouted, "Uncle."
Mimi, who greeted Heo Yeong-man warmly, introduced herself as "Oh My Girl Mimi Jia, Yeong-man uncle's niece," drawing attention. It turned out the two had a connection from appearing together on the food documentary "Taste of the Nation."
Meanwhile, Heo Yeong-man asked about her recent activities, saying, "These days she appears whenever you turn on the TV. She's like a faucet," and asked, "Do you have more broadcasting activities than the other Oh My Girl members?" Mimi replied modestly, "I'm not just at uncle's level."

Above all, Mimi confessed the sorrow of her early debut days, saying, "One day we were filming a commercial and the members looked like fairies. I wasn't that fairy style then. My skin was naturally darker and I had a boyish style. The group had to film a fresh commercial. It was a cosmetics commercial, but my concept didn't fit, so I was left alone in the waiting room. The other members all went to the shoot."
When nearby guests were surprised, Mimi said, "It's upsetting, right?" and added, "I had tried everything before that. I practiced in front of the mirror to look as innocent as possible, pretending to be innocent, but it didn't work. It couldn't be helped. The sense of emptiness was probably very large," she revealed.
