BOYNEXTDOOR, which rode a wave of commercial success, achieved a "career high" and successfully concluded promotion for their new release.
BOYNEXTDOOR (Seongho, Liu, Myeong Jaehyeon, Taesan, I Han, Unhak) wrapped up activities for their fifth mini album The Action after appearing on SBS' Inkigayo on Oct. 2. The six members broke the team's records during this promotion, boasting a remarkable rise.
BOYNEXTDOOR took first place on Inkigayo on Oct. 2 with the title track "Hollywood Action," achieving a triple crown following MBC M's Show! Champion and KBS2's MUSIC BANK and ending on a high note. "It's an honor to finish the week with an award. Thanks to ONEDOOR (fandom name), we were able to promote happily. We'll do our best to be artists who only bring good things to fans and return their love," they said in sincere remarks. After the broadcast ended, they posted on global superfan platform Weverse, "We now have more reasons to keep running. We'll continue to make good music so our songs can fill your lives," expressing their gratitude again.
BOYNEXTDOOR raised the team's profile with The Action, released on Oct. 20. The new release sold 1,041,802 copies in its first week (Hanteo chart), achieving three consecutive million-selling albums. It continued a run of No. 1s on the charts. The album topped the latest weekly album charts on Hanteo (tracking period: Oct. 20–26) and Circle Chart (tracking period: Oct. 19–25), and it was No. 1 on Korea Apple Music's "Top Albums" from Oct. 21 to Oct. 27.
They also showed the presence of a "digital powerhouse." "Hollywood Action" climbed to No. 2 on Melon's Top 100 (Oct. 21 at 12 a.m.), and its entry ranks — No. 36 on the daily chart and No. 21 on the weekly chart — set the group's personal bests. The song continued its rise, landing at No. 18 on Melon's daily chart on Nov. 1, No. 7 on Korea Apple Music's "Top 100," and No. 13 on Korea Spotify's "Weekly Top Songs" (tracking period: Oct. 24–30), remaining in the upper ranks of various charts. All tracks from the new release appeared on Circle Chart's latest weekly download, digital and streaming charts, and from Oct. 20 to Oct. 24 they charted on Apple Music's "Top 100" and Spotify's "Daily Top Songs."
They stood out in the global music market as well. The new release was No. 2 on Billboard Japan's Top Album Sales (tracking period: Oct. 20–26) and No. 2 on Oricon's weekly album ranking and weekly combined album ranking for the same period. The title track charted on China's largest music streaming platform QQ Music's new song chart from Oct. 21 to Oct. 31, and it ranked No. 6 on Japan's major music site Line Music's "Weekly Song Top 100" (tracking period: Oct. 22–28).
Music that reflected the team's personality drove these strong results. BOYNEXTDOOR wrote songs on relatable themes that captured music fans' hearts. The members' solid vocal skills and outstanding performance ability fueled the rise. The flashy choreography, reminiscent of an action movie, increased the fun of watching the stage. In this way, BOYNEXTDOOR earned praise for both music and performance, cementing their reputation as a "skillful music team." The six members, who have grown in many areas, give fans more to look forward to in their upcoming activities.
