Actor Lee Kwang Soo and Doh Kyung Soo shared their thoughts on acting together in a drama rather than a variety show.
On the morning of the 3rd at the Grand Ballroom of the Conrad Seoul hotel in Yeouido, Seoul, a production presentation was held for the Disney+ new original series "The Manipulated," with actors Ji Chang Wook, Doh Kyung Soo, Kim Jong Soo, Jo Yoon Soo, Lee Kwang Soo and director Park Shin Woo attending to discuss various aspects of the work.
In the drama, Doh Kyung Soo plays Ahn Yo Han, the representative who runs an exclusive security service business for the top 1% and the sculptor who designs incidents, marking his first antagonist role, while Lee Kwang Soo plays Baek Do Kyung, Yohans VIP who has both power and money, showcasing a new charm.
Lee Kwang Soo said, "When I read the script and saw my character's part, I wondered if he might be the worst person to the point that I spat while reading. I really disliked the character. I wanted to convey and express the points that annoyed and angered me every time I read the script well to the viewers."
Regarding acting chemistry with Doh Kyung Soo, who had appeared with him on various variety programs, Lee Kwang Soo said, "Because I'm so close with Kyung Soo, I thought I might feel shy acting together on set, but when we met on set it was really great. Without any of that, I did everything I wanted to do. Whether it was Mr. Chang Wook or Mr. Kyung Soo, they accepted and liked whatever I did, so I went to the set comfortably like visiting a place to hang out and did everything I had prepared and left."
Doh Kyung Soo also laughed and said about his chemistry with Lee Kwang Soo, "I usually don't know. He always had a strong sense of self and put the younger ones through a hard time (laughs), but when working on this piece, Kwang Soo hyung was a huge support on set. Actually, even if he didn't show it, I knew he was good, so I learned a lot, and I have learned a lot since the first time in 'It's Okay, That's Love.' I learned a lot about acting on set and how to treat the people around me, and I relied on him a lot while filming on set."
Meanwhile, the fierce confrontation between Ji Chang Wook, who races hotly toward revenge, and Doh Kyung Soo, who shows a new face with his first villain role, the synergy of fresh actors such as Kim Jong Soo, Jo Yoon Soo and Lee Kwang Soo, and the writing skill of 'Taxi Driver' series writer Oh Sang Ho culminate in "The Manipulated," which will release four episodes on Disney+ on the 5th, then two episodes each week thereafter, for a total of 12 episodes.
