Actor Lee Si-hyung has been confirmed to be cast in the highly anticipated 2026 play "Secret Passage."
The play "Secret Passage" is generating buzz for its dazzling cast that raises expectations for the production just from the names alone, including not only Lee Si-hyung but also Kim Seon-ho, Yang Kyung-won, Kim Sung-kyu, Oh Kyung-joo and Kang Seung-ho.
It is based on "The Meeting Room of Flaws," the original work by Tomohiro Maekawa, a playwright and director who represents Japanese theater and who was awarded the Yomiuri Theater Awards for best director and best work, and is directed by Min Sae-rom, a young artist celebrated in Korea's theater scene for works such as "Jellyfish," "On the Beat," and "Repairing the Living." Production company ContentsHap, known for developing fresh and original stories and achieving box office success, is producing, making it one of the theater world's most anticipated works of 2026.
The play "Secret Passage" tells the story of two people who meet in an unfamiliar space with their memories of life lost, and through books containing intertwined memories they read about connections and death found in the small gaps between life and death, and the repetition of life.
In this work, Lee Si-hyung challenges the demanding role of Seojin, a man who begins to fire questions in an unfamiliar space, performing multiple roles solo. He will delicately and wittily portray lives and deaths repeated over a long time, enriching the play and directly engaging with the audience on stage.
Lee Si-hyung has drawn dense emotional lines for his characters on stage with solid acting skills in plays such as "Rooftop Cat," "A Dramatic Night," "Shy Madness," and "Searching for Happiness." He also appeared in the drama Love Next Door, leaving an impression on the public with a broad acting range. Having shown deeper performances in each production, expectations are rising for what new aspects he will reveal in the play "Secret Passage."
Meanwhile, with Lee Si-hyung joining to complete the dazzling cast, the play "Secret Passage," which has emerged as one of the most anticipated works of 2026, will open next February at a theater in Daehangno.
