Actor Yeojin-gu announced he will enlist.
On the 3rd, Yeojin-gu's side said in an official statement, "Actor Yeojin-gu has been selected for KATUSA and will begin approximately 1 year and 6 months of service starting Monday, Dec. 15."
They added, "Because the training center induction ceremony is an event attended by many soldiers and family members, the specific location and time of entry will not be disclosed. We politely ask that you refrain from visiting the site on the day."
They also added, "We are always grateful for the interest shown toward actor Yeojin-gu, and until the day he completes his defense duties in good health and returns more mature, we ask for your continued support and encouragement."
Yeojin-gu, who debuted in 2005 with the film 'Sad Movie', has established himself as a reliable actor through numerous works such as the drama 'The Moon Embracing the Sun', 'The Crowned Clown', 'Hotel Del Luna', and the film 'Hwayi: A Monster Boy'. Recently, he also showed a new charm by joining the TVING variety show 'The Great Escape: The Story'.
He recently, at the end of each performance on his ongoing 20th-anniversary Asia fan meeting tour "Blank Space", handed fans letters he wrote himself and said, "While I am apart from you for a while, I will return a stronger and more mature person. I promise to stand before you with a healthier body and mind, and deeper acting ability," expressing his feelings before enlisting.
