"Dokbakz" showcased a new charm of traveling in Hong Kong by bicycle trekking on Cheung Chau Island.
The 23rd episode of Channel S's Ni Don Nae San Dokbak Tour 4 (Channel S, SK Broadband co-production), which aired on the 1st, featured Kim Dae-hee, Kim Jun-ho, Jang Dong-min, Yoo Se-yoon and Hong In-kyu setting out on a "Hong Kong island tour" and enjoying a day on Cheung Chau Island, a hidden trekking spot and the fourth largest island in Hong Kong.
On that day, Dokbakz transformed into "Dokbak Boys," parodying the "Lion Boys" in K-pop Demon Hunters (Kedeheon), grabbing attention. Excited by a mission to promote K-culture, they boarded the ferry to Cheung Chau Island. Afterward, they played a word-chain game called "up to 10 times" for the round-trip ferry expense, in which Kim Dae-hee finished last. Shortly after arriving on Cheung Chau Island, Dokbakz went to a Hong Kong-style congee restaurant recommended by Yoo Se-yoon. After tasting congee topped with various toppings, they received trekking course recommendations from the restaurant owner. Next, they played a game called "pin clothespins to the face and endure" for the meal expense, and after a tense match, Yoo Se-yoon cried out and gave up first, becoming the Dokbakja.
Beginning the full-scale trekking, Dokbakz went to a nearby bicycle rental shop. Immediately afterward, Dokbakz played a game in which the person who stayed on the bicycle the longest would win, and they agreed to pay the "bicycle rental fee and snack expense." At that moment, Hong In-kyu, even in an emergency where his bicycle quickly tilted, braced his whole body so his feet did not touch the ground and beat Kim Jun-ho by 0.01 seconds. Hong In-kyu, who rose to the rank of "Hong Kong's Um Bok-dong" (?), finished fourth but, along with fifth-place Kim Jun-ho, could not escape pulling a three-person bicycle. The two set off with first and second place, Jang Dong-min and Yoo Se-yoon, riding behind them, while third-place Kim Dae-hee rode a single bicycle alone and hummed happily, saying "This is so comfortable and nice." Kim Jun-ho and Hong In-kyu, now in "servant mode," pedaled hard so as not to displease the "masters," but they were knocked down by the hot weather and uphill roads. The "masters" then pulled the bicycles themselves, and after ups and downs, Dokbakz reached the Cheung Chau Mountain observatory. Yoo Se-yoon was happy, saying "The shade that welcomes me is getting closer," while Kim Dae-hee grumbled, "Yoo Se-yoon, you're the only one excited," drawing a bittersweet laugh.
Finally arriving at the observatory, Dokbakz sat in the pavilion to rest. At that time, a local tourist approached Jang Dong-min and requested a photo. The female tourist revealed her fandom, saying, "I saw you on the variety show My Little Old Boy," and Kim Jun-ho, a regular member of My Little Old Boy, bitterly noted the dent to his recognition, saying, "I was on My Little Old Boy for four years too." Then Hong In-kyu comforted Kim Jun-ho, saying, "Dong-min hyung has a distinctive look, so they recognized him," leaving Jang Dong-min dizzy.
After dizzy back-and-forth banter, Dokbakz finished trekking and went to the glamping accommodation reserved by Hong In-kyu. The accommodation, reached by a small boat, had various outdoor game areas, and Dokbakz played archery and foot-powered pocket ball games while drawing the Dokbak for "boat fee" and "dinner expense." As a result, Hong In-kyu and Kim Dae-hee finished last and each accumulated one "1-dok."
In the evening, Dokbakz went to explore a night market. Excited by the long-lined "seafood street," Dokbakz ordered sweet and sour pork, mapo tofu and fried rice. When the dishes arrived, everyone ate heartily, and during the meal, in response to Hong In-kyu's question, "Does Jimin hyung's wife cook at home? What dishes is she good at?" Kim Jun-ho proudly replied, "She's good at everything, like braised short ribs and tuna kimchi stew?" Jang Dong-min asked, "Does your brother-in-law cook too?" and Kim Jun-ho answered, "He cooked twice but failed, so (Jimin said) don't cook anymore~," making everyone burst into laughter. Hong In-kyu tested the waters, asking, "When you're married, doesn't your wife sometimes ask, 'Honey, does this outfit suit me or that one?'" Kim Jun-ho agreed, saying, "That's right," and added, "For women, it always ends with saying you look pretty~," drawing sympathy from the married Dokbakz.
The travelogue of Dokbakz, exploring new charms of Hong Kong on the "Hong Kong island tour," continues in the 24th episode of Channel S's Ni Don Nae San Dokbak Tour 4, which airs on Saturday the 8th at 9 p.m.
