Singer and actor Ok Taecyeon announced his marriage in a handwritten letter, becoming the second married member of 2PM. This is an official announcement nine months after marriage rumors surfaced when photos of a proposal in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris were revealed last year.
On the 1st, his agency FiftyoneK said, "Actor Ok Taecyeon promised to share his life with someone he has been seeing for a long time," announcing the marriage.
The agency said, "The wedding will be held privately next spring in a location in Seoul with only family members from both sides, relatives and close acquaintances in attendance. As the spouse is a non-celebrity, we ask for your deep understanding that the details will be kept private."
Prior to this, Ok Taecyeon posted a handwritten letter on his personal account to announce the marriage himself. He said, "I promised to spend my life with one person who has understood and trusted me for a long time. We will be a reliable presence for each other and walk together through the life ahead."
Ok Taecyeon said, "I sincerely thank everyone who has consistently supported me and stayed by my side until now. I cannot fully express in words how much your love and support have empowered me," and pledged, "I will continue to do my best to repay the love and trust you have shown me as a member of 2PM, as an actor, and as your Taecyeon."
With this, Ok Taecyeon joins the ranks of married men six years after he acknowledged a public relationship in 2020. Along with Ok Taecyeon's marriage news, the marriage rumors that surfaced last February were revisited. At the time, a photo circulated on online communities showing Ok Taecyeon giving a ring to his girlfriend in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and the proposal atmosphere naturally led to marriage speculation.
