Singer and actor Kim Jeong-hoon meets viewers in a realistic marital drama six years after halting activities amid a private life controversy.
The events that unfold when famous psychotherapist Choi Woo-jin (played by Kim Jeong-hoon) appears as a new resident of an upper-class townhouse are revealed in "Couple Scandal 3: Pandora's Secret," which airs at 10 p.m. on the 31st on GTV and KSTAR.
Seon-young, the resident who has lived the longest in the townhouse and who takes great pride in her work as a translator (played by Kang Se-jung), hears from housekeeper Alisa that Woojin, who has a Japanese wife, is moving in. Park Mi-na (played by Shin Joo-ah), who is going through a rut with her husband as a ceramic artist, and Im Ha-young (played by Ryu Ye-ri), who enjoys a freewheeling lifestyle as a silver-spoon heir, are also intrigued by Woojin's move-in.
Seon-young reaches out to help Woojin first, promising she will send housekeeper Alisa anytime, and when Woojin accepts, the sight of Alisa entering Woojin's home draws attention.
Alisa, who wanders through the house, looks at somewhere on the bed and gives an ominous smile. Already privy to all the townhouse residents' secrets from coming and going to Seon-young and Ha-young's homes, what Alisa discovers in Woojin's house will be revealed in the broadcast.
Meanwhile, Kim Jeong-hoon returns to domestic broadcasting after six years with "Couple Scandal 3: Pandora's Secret." He was embroiled in a private life controversy when he appeared on the 2019 TV CHOSUN variety show "Taste of Love." At that time he was sued by a former lover, identified as A, for allegedly coercing her to have an abortion, and he lost a lawsuit seeking about 100 million won in damages. The son born to A was later confirmed to be Kim Jeong-hoon's biological child.
In December 2023 he refused a police breathalyzer request after causing a rear-end collision and was summarily indicted on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act, receiving a fine of 10 million won.
Afterward he disappeared from the domestic entertainment industry, and while quietly active in Japan with performances and fan meetings, Kim Jeong-hoon announced his comeback through a bold marital drama.
At the production presentation on the 21st, which Kim Jeong-hoon did not attend, screenwriter Park Ji-hye, speaking in his stead, said, "Casting was left entirely to the director. Mr. Kim has had a desire to show a different side beyond what he has done. It seems they cast him under the judgment that he would overall help the drama."
Meanwhile, "Couple Scandal 3: Pandora's Secret," featuring Kim Jeong-hoon, will be released today (the 31st) at 10 p.m. on GTV and kstar.
