Big Hit's rookie group CORTIS received praise from U.S. media.
The Hollywood Reporter said, "With the emergence of next-generation boy group CORTIS, the future of K-pop is getting much brighter," and emphasized, "Although most members are teenagers and very young, they have appeared on global charts and are rapidly growing into global pop stars."
It focused on the team's identity as a "young creator crew" that jointly creates music, choreography and videos. "They are deeply involved in their music and artistic direction overall. Members focus on a single value, authenticity, rather than making the music the world expects," it said.
Forbes also praised them, saying they "are building an impressive career that makes you forget their age" and that it is hard to believe they debuted only about two months ago given their confidence and distinctive charm. It noted that their debut album, COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES, entered the U.S. Billboard main album chart Billboard 200 at No. 15 (Sept. 27) and that they ranked No. 1 in first-week sales among rookies who debuted this year, analyzing that the team's success stems from their creative capabilities. It added, "All members participated in the entire album production process. They are not mere musicians. They are creators who tell their own stories through music, stage and video. They are not bound by any format."
Even though promotional activities for their debut album have officially ended, CORTIS has been gaining attention and growing its presence in overseas markets. They received love calls from U.S. media and traveled between Los Angeles and New York, appearing on popular radio shows, performances and events, receiving strong responses locally. In November they will expand activities to Japan. The members were invited to perform on Japan's flagship music program TBS CDTV Live! Live! on the 3rd of next month and at the NHK MUSIC SPECIAL NHK MUSIC EXPO LIVE 2025 held at Tokyo Dome. On the 5th they will hold a solo showcase in Tokyo.
