Actor Jang Dong-ju's cryptic post on social media had fans worried, but about four hours later his whereabouts were confirmed, bringing a sigh of relief. However, why he suddenly left the message "I'm sorry" and then became unreachable remains unknown, and fans' concerns continue.
On the morning of the 31st, Jang Dong-ju posted a short message saying "I'm sorry" along with a black screen on his social media. The post, left without any further explanation, immediately stirred anxiety among fans and the public. A representative of his agency also said, "We tried to contact him immediately after seeing the social media post, but could not reach him," conveying the urgent situation.
Fans poured out comments such as "What's going on?", "Are you okay?", and "Please contact us," unable to hide their worry, and senior actress Bang Eun-hee also left a comment saying "Is something wrong?" expressing concern for her junior.
Jang Dong-ju has finished filming the new SBS drama drama "From Today I Am Human"* and was scheduled to be released next year. The drama's production team also said, "Filming is complete, and we are checking the current situation," heightening tension.
About four hours later, news arrived that, fortunately, Jang Dong-ju's whereabouts had been determined. His agency Nexus E&M said in an official statement, "We apologize for causing concern. The actor's whereabouts have been confirmed, and it is not a bad situation."
But it still has not been confirmed why Jang Dong-ju suddenly posted an "apology post" or why contact was lost. The agency said little, noting, "We are confirming the specific circumstances."
Online, cautious reactions continued, such as "Whatever the reason, as long as he's okay," "I worry that he might have been going through something difficult," and "We should refrain from hasty speculation and watch."
Meanwhile, some have said, "Recently there have been frequent cases of celebrities showing impulsive behavior under psychological pressure," and suggested, "Rather than excessive speculation, it's necessary to give the person time to recover and sort things out."
A social media apology followed by disappearance, then relief after four hours. But because the reason remains shrouded in mystery, fans are cautiously cheering for his recovery while waiting for a single word saying he's "okay".
