Singer Shoo (real name Yoo Soo-young), formerly of the girl group S.E.S., moved people after saying she was brought to tears by an unexpected show of support while volunteering at the disabled work site "Kkotbat".
Shoo recently opened up on social media, saying, "I volunteer here once a month, but honestly I go because I want to laugh a lot!" She added, "In June last year, on a sweltering day, I bought 100 ice creams and handed them out to friends, and they welcomed me saying, 'Unni, you're here again?'" as she recalled the warm moment.
Not only that, Shoo was visibly moved when volunteers asked, "Unni, please release another album!" and "Why don't you appear on TV?" and played her songs and sang along with her. She confessed, "I was touched when I realized that people who didn't know who I was looked up my songs and then recognized me."
Meanwhile, Shoo has continued various activities such as watering plants and sharing kimbap at the disabled work site "Cheonan City Kkotbat" in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province. She said, "Through volunteering, I receive even greater love and lessons," and pledged, "I will continue to approach with sincerity."
Internet users also offered warm support for the revelation, saying, "Unni Shoo really smiles a lot and looks happy," "My heart ached at the comment that she receives more than she gives when she volunteers," and "I like that I see Shoo the person, not idol Shoo."
