Actors Kim Yoo-jung and Kim Do-hoon recounted the aftermath of a dating rumor incident.
On the afternoon of the 30th at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Yongsan District, Seoul, a production press conference was held for the TVING original Dear X. Director Lee Eung-bok and actors Kim Yoo-jung, Kim Young-dae, Kim Do-hoon and Lee Yul-eum attended the press conference and spoke.
Dear X, based on the webtoon of the same name, is the story of a woman who wears a mask, Baek Ah-jin, who climbs from hell to the highest place, and the Xs who were brutally trampled by her.
Earlier last month, a dating rumor about actors Kim Yoo-jung and Kim Do-hoon spread mainly on online communities. Witness photos saying they saw Kim Do-hoon and Kim Yoo-jung on a plane bound for Nha Trang, Vietnam, and posts that raised suspicions of lovestagramming led to allegations that the two had traveled together to Nha Trang. In response, the agency issued an official statement saying, "After confirming with Kim Yoo-jung, the dating rumors with Kim Do-hoon are not true. The Nha Trang trip was not a trip for just the two of them but was a group trip taken together after filming Dear X finished."
They then explained, "After filming for the drama was completely finished, Director Lee Eung-bok, actors Kim Yoo-jung and Kim Do-hoon, and staff members who were able to make the schedule all went on a group trip together, but the photos made it look like only the two went," and the incident was wrapped up.
When the dating rumor was brought up, Director Lee Eung-bok joked, "I am willing to provide more photos. I secured a few photos last time as well," drawing laughter.
Kim Yoo-jung said, "I think I called almost immediately after the article came out. It was right after the Busan schedule ended and everyone had just broken up. As soon as we talked on the phone, we laughed for three minutes straight. I laughed a lot while talking with the director as well. From our perspective, it shows that people are that interested, so we really hope the project does well."
Kim Young-dae confessed, "I really knew nothing. It's even TMI, but I couldn't go there. I genuinely called to ask if this was real or fake. I asked, 'Is it real?' and they said no."
Lee Yul-eum added with a laugh, "I couldn't go on the trip either, but we all planned in the group chat to go together. I knew what day it was and how they went, and I chatted with Yoo-jung while looking at photos. It was funny to see familiar scenes become news."
Meanwhile, Dear X will be released on TVING on Nov. 6.
