The group BOYNEXTDOOR continued its upward momentum, topping domestic and international charts.
On Oct. 30, according to the latest weekly chart released by album sales tracker Circle Chart (tracking period: Oct. 19-25), BOYNEXTDOOR (Seongho, Liu, Myeong Jaehyeon, Taesan, Ihan, Unhak)'s fifth mini album The Action ranked No. 1 on the album chart.
The title track "Hollywood Action" entered the download chart at No. 4 and ranked high on digital (No. 15) and streaming (No. 25) charts, demonstrating its popularity. In addition, every track on the album entered the download, digital and streaming charts.
In particular, on the download chart, every song occupied top positions, including "It's You" (No. 9), "Live In Paris" (No. 11), "Bathroom" (No. 12) and "JAM!" (No. 13). Beyond the new songs, the group's first digital single released in January "Only Today I LOVE YOU," mini album 4's "123-78," and the Naver Webtoon "A Girl's World" collaboration song "I have never liked someone this much" were also placed across digital and streaming charts, showcasing their reputation as a powerhouse in music streaming.
They are also performing well on the Melon chart, a barometer of mainstream popularity. "Hollywood Action" was No. 18 on the daily chart for Oct. 29. It also solidified its presence on various charts, including No. 7 on Korea Apple Music's "Top 100" for Oct. 28 and No. 12 on Korea Spotify's "Daily Top Songs."
Global charts are also sailing smoothly. The Action entered Billboard Japan's "Top Album Sales" at No. 2 (tracking period: Oct. 20-26), and the title track "Hollywood Action" entered the rising chart "Hot Shot Song" at No. 3. The song signaled further momentum by appearing at No. 22 on the "Hot 100." Myeong Jaehyeon, Taesan, Ihan and Unhak, who participated in writing "Hollywood Action," ranked No. 32 on the "Hot 100 songwriters" list, and Unhak also ranked No. 30 on the "Hot 100 composers" list. BOYNEXTDOOR also kept its momentum by ranking No. 2 on the Oricon "weekly album ranking" for the same tracking period.
They have also started collecting music show trophies. BOYNEXTDOOR won the No. 1 trophy with "Hollywood Action" on MBC M's Show! Champion, which aired on Oct. 29. They showed strong popularity by reaching the top without appearing on the show. The six members will appear on KBS2's MUSIC BANK on Oct. 31, MBC's Show! Music Core on Nov. 1, and SBS's Inkigayo on Nov. 2.
