The play "Secret Passage" unveiled a dazzling casting lineup ahead of its opening in Feb. 2026.
On the 30th, production company ContentsHap officially announced on its social media that the play "Secret Passage" had confirmed the casting of actors Kim Seon-ho, Yang Kyung-won, Kim Sung-kyu, Lee Si-hyeong, Kang Seung-ho and Oh Kyung-joo and is scheduled to make its debut to the public next Feb.
The play "Secret Passage" tells the story of two people who meet in an unfamiliar space having lost their memories of life and who, through books containing intertwined memories, deal with life and death, the small gaps between them, bonds discovered in reading, and the review of repeated lives.
Kim Seon-ho, Yang Kyung-won and Kim Sung-kyu will play Dong-jae, a man who seems to have been living through a familiar time for as long as he can remember, while Lee Si-hyeong, Kang Seung-ho and Oh Kyung-joo will play Seo-jin, a man who begins bombarding questions in the unfamiliar space. Taking on the challenging task of multiple roles for one actor, the six trusted performers will delicately and wittily portray lives and deaths repeated for a very long time, enriching and diversifying the play; the casting lineup alone is already raising expectations for the production and exciting fans and audiences, generating buzz even now.
"Secret Passage" is an adaptation of Tomohiro Maekawa's original work "The Meeting Room of Flaws," a playwright-director who represents the Japanese theater world, reimagined with Korean sensibilities and a contemporary sensibility. He has won top directing and best play awards multiple times at the Yomiuri Theater Awards, Japan's highest theater honor, and his works such as "The Strolling Invader" and "The Sun" have already been performed in Korea as translated plays and are greatly loved.
Young artist Min Sae-rom, who has built a distinctive domain in Korean theater and is receiving attention for handling human psychology sharply yet warmly in works such as "Jellyfish," "On the Beat" and "Repairing the Living," will direct, and translator Lee Hong-i, who introduced many of Tomohiro Maekawa's works such as "The Strolling Invader" and "The Sun" to Korea, will be responsible for the translation. In addition, the production company ContentsHap, which develops new and original stories and has expanded artistic horizons with audiences by successfully producing hit shows, will produce the play, further enhancing trust.
Meanwhile, having completed a dazzling casting lineup and emerging as one of 2026's most anticipated works, the play "Secret Passage" is scheduled to open next Feb. at a theater in Daehangno.
