'Story of the Day When You Bite Your Tail' will feature its first nonhuman listener and its youngest listener. The protagonist is EBS trainee-turned Pengsoo.
OSEN reporting on the 30th found that Pengsoo will appear as a story friend on SBS's 'Story of the Day When You Bite Your Tail' (hereafter Kkokkomu), which will air on Nov. 6.
In this regard, a Kkokkomu representative said, "The episode in which Pengsoo appears is scheduled to be broadcast on Nov. 6."
Kkokkomu is a program in which three "ayagikkun" study on their own and convey what they felt one-on-one to their respective "story friends" in the most everyday spaces. Since its first broadcast in Oct. 2021, it has been loved as a flagship SBS educational program for more than four years.
Jang Hyun-sung, Jang Sung-kyu and Jang Doyoun meet viewers every Thursday night as storytellers, and attention is focused as Pengsoo appears as a story friend for one of them. Because story friends listen to the storytellers and express the candid reactions that arise on the spot, expectations are growing about what kind of reaction Pengsoo will show.
Although many stars have visited as story friends, this is the first time a "nonhuman" has appeared on Kkokkomu. Pengsoo is the mascot character of the YouTube channel Giant Peng TV produced by EBS; Pengsoo is a 10-year-old penguin from the Antarctic, and the name uses the character for "peng" from Antarctic and "soo" meaning outstanding.
Noting that Pengsoo is the youngest listener among the story friends so far, the penguin from the Antarctic who dreams of becoming the top creator as an EBS trainee has advanced to a flagship SBS educational program with the support of 1.72 million subscribers.
Pengsoo, becoming the first nonhuman story friend in Kkokkomu history, appears at the age of 10 and set the record as the youngest story friend in Kkokkomu history. Known for exceptional wit, attention is focused on how Pengsoo will add fun to the stories on Kkokkomu.
Meanwhile, Pengsoo has proven popularity by winning awards including the 2020 Brand Customer Loyalty Awards in the character category, the 2020 Baeksang Arts Awards for educational works, the 2020 Korea Broadcasting Awards entertainer award, the 2020 Korea Communications Commission Broadcasting Awards creative innovation excellence award, and the 2020 Korea Content Awards presidential award in the character category.
The SBS program Story of the Day When You Bite Your Tail featuring Pengsoo airs Thursdays at 10:20 p.m.
