The first signal flare has been fired for Pro Bono, which will depict the reversal-filled life story of a snobbish judge.
The script reading scene, featuring Jung Kyung-ho, So Joo-yeon, Yoon Na-moo, Seo Hye-won and Kang Hyung-seok, was revealed for tvN's new Saturday-Sunday drama Pro Bono, which will premiere in December 2025 (written by Moon Yoo-seok / directed by Kim Sung-yoon / planned by Studio Dragon / produced by Sequence W, Lotte Cultureworks, Studio Flow), foreshadowing the actors' perfect chemistry.
Pro Bono is a human courtroom drama about a snobbish judge obsessed with success who inadvertently becomes a public interest lawyer and gets trapped in the corner office of a mega law firm and a public interest team with zero revenue, leading to chaotic events. Director Kim Sung-yoon, who proved his solid directing skills with the dramas Love in the Moonlight, Itaewon Class and The Sound of Magic, and writer Moon Yoo-seok, who continued the courtroom drama hit lineage with The Devil Judge and Miss Hammurabi, have joined forces to draw significant attention.
Above all, it has raised expectations by building a solid lineup of actors. Leading the cast is Jung Kyung-ho, who has left a strong presence in every work with a wide acting spectrum, joined by So Joo-yeon, beloved for her delicate emotional acting, and Lee Yoo-young, who brings exceptional acting depth. Yoon Na-moo, Seo Hye-won and Kang Hyung-seok also join to complete a reliable combination.
Meanwhile, news of the script reading that highlighted the actors' passion for acting drew attention. Director Kim Sung-yoon and writer Moon Yoo-seok attended the event with the actors, sharing the start of the project amid excitement and tension.
First, Jung Kyung-ho, who plays Kang Da-wit, a former judge turned public interest lawyer, vividly portrayed the inner life of a figure who suddenly shifts from being an influencer in the legal world to a public interest lawyer. In particular, his cunning mood amusingly conveyed Kang Da-wit's confusion after his world was turned upside down overnight, bringing smiles to the set.
So Joo-yeon, who plays Park Ki-ppeum, also drew attention by lifting the atmosphere on set with her bubbly energy. So Joo-yeon naturally infused the character of legal enthusiast Park Ki-ppeum, who digs deeply into whatever she becomes obsessed with, showcasing her distinct personality and drawing admiration.
Also joining the Pro Bono team, Yoon Na-moo (as Jang Young-sil), Seo Hye-won (as Yoo Nan-hee) and Kang Hyung-seok (as Hwang Jun-woo) each strongly revealed the colors of their characters, drawing attention. The three demonstrated realistic back-and-forth exchanges and lively reactions, foreshadowing the Pro Bono team's cheerful synergy in the drama.
