Nice to Not Meet You delivers cheerful laughter.
The new tvN Monday-Tuesday drama Nice to Not Meet You (written by Jung Yeo-rang, directed by Kim Ga-ram), which is scheduled to premiere on Nov. 3, is a drama about a fallen national actor and an entertainment reporter obsessed with delivering justice engaging in dissing wars, fact bombardments and breaking down prejudice. In the spectacle of the entertainment industry where all kinds of incidents happen daily, the antagonistic chemistry between a top star tangled in a resentful fate and an entertainment reporter is expected to provide sympathetic moments and thrills amid fresh laughs. With four days to go before the premiere, we highlighted three must-see points that make it irresistibly appealing.
#'Good Partner' director Kim Ga-ram x 'Doctor Cha' writer Jung Yeo-rang team up
The fact that the production team has a proven box-office record makes drama fans even more excited. Director Kim Ga-ram, who has worked across genres on Good Partner and Love to Hate You, and writer Jung Yeo-rang, who caused a sensation with Doctor Cha, have joined forces to deliver a different kind of fun. Director Kim Ga-ram said, "Nice to Not Meet You is an easy-to-watch drama that anyone can enjoy. I expect the bright energy of Im Hyun-jun (played by Lee Jung-jae) and Wi Jeong-shin (played by Lim Ji-yeon) will be conveyed to viewers." Picking the drama-within-the-drama that made Im Hyun-jun a national actor, Good Cop Kang Pil-gu, as another viewing point, Kim Ga-ram said, "To portray a beloved national drama within the story, there are signature action scenes showcasing Kang Pil-gu, a righteous detective whose fists lead the way, from season 1 to season 4. We traveled to various locations and worked hard, so I hope viewers fall for the charm of Kang Pil-gu's action." Finally, he added, "I hope you comfortably enjoy a festival of comic performances from Lee Jung-jae and Lim Ji-yeon like nothing you've seen before. It's a show that's fun with anyone and fun alone. Please watch a lot."
#Lee Jung-jae x Lim Ji-yeon x Kim Ji-hoon x Seo Ji-hye: the 'trustworthy actors' deliver annoyingly perfect synergy
The meeting of trusted, must-see actors Lee Jung-jae, Lim Ji-yeon, Kim Ji-hoon and Seo Ji-hye, who will create an annoyingly delightful synergy, is undoubtedly the top viewing point. Lee Jung-jae plays Im Hyun-jun, a veteran detective turned national actor who wants to be reborn as a master of romance, delivering lively and seasoned comic acting. Lim Ji-yeon plays Wi Jeong-shin, a reporter who moved from the political desk to the entertainment desk. Expectations are high for whether the political desk ace, who even won the youngest journalist award, can show that side of herself again and how she will adapt chaotically to the entertainment desk. Kim Ji-hoon plays Lee Jae-hyung, who goes from a beloved national baseball star to the president of Sports Eunseong, beginning a new life and radiating sweet charm. Seo Ji-hye appears as Yun Hwa-young, the unparalleled youngest entertainment desk chief at Sports Eunseong, returning with cool yet soft charisma. The production team's trust in the actors is extraordinary. Director Kim Ga-ram said, "All four actors are highly skilled and portrayed distinctive characters in their previous works. In Nice to Not Meet You, we wanted to show new sides of the four actors," adding, "Although Lee Jung-jae has played a variety of roles, I wanted to show a new aspect of him as an actor that people would not expect. Lim Ji-yeon will also present a lovable and comic side different from her previous work. Compared with his intense prior roles, Kim Ji-hoon has a relaxed and sweet charm, and Seo Ji-hye will show a new charm that will captivate people of all ages." He emphasized his special affection for the actors.
#Veterans and promising new actors assemble to multiply comic synergy through dynamic relationships
Choi Gwi-hwa, Jeon Seong-woo, Kim Jae-chul, Na Young-hee, Jeon Soo-kyung, Kim Hyun-jin, Jin Ho-eun and special appearance by Oh Yeon-seo complete a mix of veteran and new actors who will add fun through dynamic relationships. Choi Gwi-hwa plays Hwang, a manager who has been with Im Hyun-jun since his debut, showing a delightful bro chemistry. Oh Yeon-seo makes a special appearance as Kwon Se-na, Im Hyun-jun's former lover and a global star, leaving a strong presence. Jeon Seong-woo takes on Park Byung-gi, the writer of the Good Cop Kang Pil-gu series, injecting unpredictable laughs. Kim Jae-chul plays Lee Dae-ho, Lee Jae-hyung's (played by Kim Ji-hoon) half brother and a successful entertainment entrepreneur who provides much of the show's tension. Na Young-hee plays Seong Ae-sook, a 1970s sexy star and Im Hyun-jun's mother, and Jeon Soo-kyung plays Oh Mi-ran, Lee Jae-hyung's birth mother and a current actress with the aura of a chaebol family, both delivering memorable supporting turns. Kim Hyun-jin plays Im Seon-woo, Im Hyun-jun's younger sibling and a medical student thirsty for acting, and Jin Ho-eun plays Wi Hong-shin, Wi Jeong-shin's youngest sibling and an aspiring actor, adding energy with an authentic close-friend vibe. Director Kim Ga-ram said, "As a comedy drama, the more the actors gather, the more comic synergy overflows," raising expectations for the colorful relationships that will complete these distinctive characters.
