Singer Yang Hee-eun of 'Sunpung Seon Woo Yong-yeo' reflected on her 55-year singing career and her mother's life.
On the 29th, actress Seon Woo Yong-yeo's YouTube channel released a video titled "Seon Woo Yong-yeo's real younger sister Yang Hee-eun's first reveal of the cafe she opened in Chungcheong-do (K eldest daughter story)." Yang Hee-eun is currently honoring her mother deeply by opening a cafe curated with works her mother painted while alive.
Seon Woo Yong-yeo drove all the way to Buyeo to meet her close friend Yang Hee-eun. Yang Hee-eun, who became close after meeting on Seba-kwai, was one of Seon Woo Yong-yeo's beloved friends. Compared with Seon Woo Yong-yeo's well-known acquaintances such as Lee Kyung-sil, Park Mi-sun, Cho Hye-ryun and Kim Ji-seon, Yang Hee-eun's friendship was actually surprisingly close.
Comedian Park Mi-sun was between them. The producers asked, "There are people who don't know the two are close." Yang Hee-eun said, "Park Mi-sun is in the middle." Seon Woo Yong-yeo said, "That's right. The reason she had to mention her mother like this was that her mother became a divorcee overnight after her father's notice of divorce, ran a business while supporting three children and went bankrupt. Yang Hee-eun said, "There is love and hate between the eldest daughter and mother. Out of pity I say, 'Mom, what's wrong!' and then turn away feeling sorry," and said, "Mom stormed out to her parents' home in a huff, and that night my father brought a new woman. My father went crazy." To Yang Hee-eun, her father had been affectionate enough to buy her imported underwear, but he was not able to be like that with her mother. Yang Hee-eun still seemed to resent her father.
Yang Hee-eun said, "I took care of her my whole life. I even took care of her in New York, there was a room for mom," adding, "It hasn't been two years since my mother passed away, and only now do I feel like an independent person. My mother is always stuck here. She is embedded in all my bones." Because of that, after her cancer surgery at 30 she became infertile, but she said, "When I couldn't have children after the cancer surgery, on the one hand I felt free. No kids, I'm free from that. I hated that tie," showing that she was rather unconcerned.
Yang Hee-eun said, "You need age to get to that point. Get older and you'll see, luxury goods become heavy and you dislike them. Put the money for luxury goods in the bank and carry something light. The future will end as it comes. That's why I try to tidy up quickly," conveying her current view of life.
She said, "Anyway, I didn't want it, but I inherited my mother's voice and sang for 55 years. I saved pocket money and created this space to remember my mother. Korea's strength is women's strength, the strength of grandmothers. People who experienced from the June 25 war all are like that. Isn't it said that grandmothers will stitch and feed you?
