'Love that falls well' Kim Jong-kook, Lee Su-ji and Uee were confident in their chemistry as a three-MC lineup, enough to look forward to season 2.
TV CHOSUN's 'Love that falls well,' which premieres Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 10 p.m., is a love-diet project with my future man or woman, like an unscratched lottery ticket. The high-end diet romance program 'Love that falls well,' which promises both weight loss and falling in love, is expected to bring the excitement and tension of existing dating shows while also offering differentiated fun and a message about the restoration of self-esteem.
For 'Love that falls well,' perfect-muscle man Kim Jong-kook, cheerful empathy sprite Lee Su-ji and diet mate Uee took the stage as the three MCs. Reactions called them the perfect MC combination for 'Love that falls well,' which blends 'diet' and 'dating.' So how did the three feel after actually working together? We heard directly from the three MCs, who boasted top-level chemistry throughout the recording.
First, Kim Jong-kook said about the three-MC chemistry, "It was very good." He added, "Lee Su-ji found commonalities with the participants and empathized with them, representing the participants and making the atmosphere pleasant and fun. That was a great support and gave me a lot of resolve." He also spoke about Uee, saying, "She deeply immersed herself in the tangled romantic feelings of several participants and candidly shared her own views on love, which was a refreshing pleasure."
Lee Su-ji also replied without hesitation, "My chemistry with Kim Jong-kook and Uee was really good." But she quickly added with wit, "Because the two love exercise, sometimes I couldn't relate to them on that point," drawing laughter. Lee Su-ji added, "Above all, I admired Kim Jong-kook's way of leading conversations by comparing things to food. Uee sincerely empathized with the contestants' feelings, which warmed my heart."
Finally, Uee said, "Thanks to senior Kim Jong-kook, who is earnest about exercise, and sister Su-ji, the cheerful, refreshing and exhilarating queen of empathy, I enjoyed myself throughout the shoot. By sharing each other's experiences and empathy, we sometimes had serious conversations." The balance of the three MCs, who each empathized and immersed themselves with the participants in different ways, was very good. Uee also showed strong confidence, saying, "Our three-MC chemistry is good enough to expect season 2."
In dating shows, the MCs are as important a source of fun as the participants. How much the MCs empathize with and react to the participants' emotions and situations affects viewers' immersion. According to production, Kim Jong-kook, Lee Su-ji and Uee deeply immersed themselves in the participants' diet and love stories throughout the recording, becoming excited, snapping at times or shedding tears together. They were said to have had perfect chemistry as well.
