Actress Kim Ji-won is reviewing appearing in writer Jung Seo-kyung and director Kim Hee-won's new work "Detective Park Mi-ok".
On the 29th, a representative of her agency Hi Gieum Studio told OSEN, "Detective Park Mi-ok is one of the projects actress Kim Ji-won has been offered and is reviewing," in an official statement.
Detective Park Mi-ok is reported to be a work adapted into a drama featuring the real-life first female detective in Korea, Park Mi-ok, as the protagonist. Writer Jung Seo-kyung, who has collaborated on scripts with director Park Chan-wook on films such as Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, Thirst, The Handmaiden, and Decision to Leave, is preparing a new drama that is drawing expectations. Previously, writer Jung Seo-kyung presented drama scripts through Mother, Little Women, and Polaris.
In particular, Detective Park Mi-ok is reported to be a work in which writer Jung Seo-kyung will once again collaborate with director Kim Hee-won following Little Women and Polaris. Director Kim Hee-won is a star drama producer praised for works such as Money Flower, The Crowned Clown, and Vincenzo. He built a close working relationship with writer Jung Seo-kyung through Little Women and Polaris.
Moreover, director Kim Hee-won previously worked with Kim Ji-won on the drama Queen of Tears, which was greatly loved. He has reached out again to offer Detective Park Mi-ok to Kim Ji-won.
However, because Detective Park Mi-ok itself is in the early stages of production, and because Kim Ji-won is known to be positively reviewing SBS's new drama Doctor X: The Era of the White Mafia, her appearance in Detective Park Mi-ok has not been confirmed.
