Actor Park Ju-hyun expressed her acting aspirations.
On the 29th at CGV Yeouido in Seoul, a handprinting event for the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards was held. The event, hosted by Park Kyung-rim, was attended by Hwang Jung-min, Kim Goeun, Jung Haein, Lee Sang-hee, Noh Sang-hyun and Park Ju-hyun.
Launched in 1963 to promote the development of Korea's film industry, the Blue Dragon Film Awards has established itself as the most prestigious film award through a fair and transparent judging process. This year as well, the event is expected to offer a festive night where the figures who illuminated the Korean film industry and movie fans gather in one place to enjoy together.
At this year's Blue Dragon Film Awards handprinting event, the winners of the 45th Blue Dragon Film Awards held in November 2024 — Hwang Jung-min, Kim Goeun, Jung Haein, Lee Sang-hee, Noh Sang-hyun and Park Ju-hyun — attended to leave a record that continues the footsteps of past winners. The handprinting is a traditional pre-ceremony event of the Blue Dragon Film Awards, a meaningful occasion that engraves the footprints of the filmmakers who received the honor of last year's Blue Dragon Film Awards.
Noh Sang-hyun of Love in the Big City and Park Ju-hyun of Drive respectively won the 45th Blue Dragon Film Awards' best newcomer actor and best newcomer actress awards, announcing the rise of a new generation.
On that day Park Ju-hyun laughed and said, "It was an honor to receive an award for my first screen work, and it's even more of an honor to be here with my seniors. The year really passed quickly. It's such a shame, and I need to win another award next time. I'll work hard so I can stand here again." She added, "After the award, many people around me congratulated me. I'm from Busan, and everyone in my neighborhood was excited."
She also spoke about the kind of character she wants to challenge. Park Ju-hyun said, "I want to play the 'evil' of evil. Like what senior Hwang Jung-min did. I want to become a 'female Hwang Jung-min' and play a character whose default is truly 'evil,'" and added, "The Blue Dragon is my first step. I hope this is not the last."
