According to the agency, "We would like to inform you about the matters that have taken place so far," and "On July 9, 2025, we met with SM Entertainment and confirmed an initial intent to agree. We confirmed the direction and will to reach an agreement for EXO's full-group activities."
According to the agency, thereafter on Sept. 10, both sides mutually shared specific agreement proposals and entered a substantive negotiation phase, and after the second adjustment date (Oct. 2), ChenBaekXi clearly communicated their intention to agree by accepting all the conditions proposed by SM to enable a year-end EXO full-group comeback.
ChenBaekXi said, "To prepare for full-group activities, we cleared all personal schedules in December and were waiting for SM's final response through legal representatives. While making these efforts, we learned of a notice about an EXO fan meeting and a full album release that excluded ChenBaekXi. We apologize for the delayed response as we were confirming SM's intentions regarding progress in the agreement in an unexpected situation."
ChenBaekXi also said, "The members have valued above all the sincerity of the fans who have been with them for a long time, and because they earnestly wished for EXO's full-group activities, they chose the path of agreement. Accordingly, we plan to derive an agreement for full-group activities as soon as possible. We appreciate the fans who always trust and wait for us, and we will do our best to produce a good result."
Meanwhile, according to a recent report by the Legal Times, ChenBaekXi lost several lawsuits against their former agency SM Entertainment seeking accounting data provision and alleging unfair contracts, with the cases being dismissed and ruled not to have sufficient charges.
Also, EXO plans to promote at the year-end fan meeting and with the new album as six members excluding ChenBaekXi: Suho, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, Sehun and Lay.
