Television personality Seo Dong-ju mentioned a tragic reunion with her father, the late Seo Se-won.
On the afternoon of the 23rd, a video titled 50-pyeong land made to look like 200-pyeong by an interior genius Seo Dong-ju's newlywed home revealed for the first time (Jang Young-ran faints) was released on the YouTube channel "A-grade Jang Young-ran."
Seo Dong-ju referred to the label "second-generation star" and began by saying she struggled from childhood because of comparisons about her appearance. Seo Dong-ju said, "When I was young, what was hard was that my mother was so pretty and I was so ugly back then," adding, "I was compared so much for my appearance that it made me very sad."
Seo Dong-ju also expressed the burden of having her personal life exposed to the public and the media. She noted that her parents' divorce and her own divorce were both widely reported as major news at the time.
She especially conveyed the shock when her father, the late Seo Se-won, passed away the year before last. Seo Dong-ju explained the situation at the time, saying, "When my father died the year before last, everyone came all the way to Cambodia, from Unanswered Questions onward."
The most heartbreaking part for Seo Dong-ju was the way she reunited with her father. Seo Dong-ju confessed, "Because I hardly spoke with my father for about 10 years, the last image I saw of him was his deceased appearance."
Seo Dong-ju said she was confused when she saw the funeral held in the poor conditions of a Cambodian temple. She said calmly, "I didn't know how I was supposed to accept this. I want to ask whether he left because he was so cruel to our family, but I couldn't ask, so I just cried," revealing the sorrow and remorse she couldn't voice.
