Actor Lee Jang-woo revealed a "cheat code" for a Ganghwa Island rural regeneration project.
On the March 28 broadcast of MBC variety show "Countryside village Lee Jang-woo 2," Lee Jang-woo, who has continued rural living on Ganghwa Island since last spring, was shown struggling to revitalize the community. On the day's broadcast, his close friends appeared to help Lee Jang-woo and brighten the program.
First, Lee Jang-woo and actor Lee Joo-seung went mid-sized shrimp fishing in the waters off Ganghwa Island. The scene of the two pulling up seasonal shrimp with a net captured viewers' attention. Broadcaster Hong Seok-cheon and chef Kim Mi-ryeong, famous for "Imokase No. 1," appeared and, in a scene where they researched recipes using Ganghwa Island specialties with Lee Jang-woo, a parade of mouthwatering dishes unfolded.
In particular, Lee Jang-woo's Ganghwa Island specialty sweet potato jelly pancake, made for Kian84, became a hot topic that day. Lee Jang-woo presented it to Kian84 with the seasoning sauce he learned from chef Kim Mi-ryeong of "Imokase No. 1," and the scene drew viewers' attention. Kian84, tasting the chewy texture of the sweet potato jelly pancake for the first time, marveled, saying it also had the feel of a buckwheat crepe and was delicious.
After the meal, Lee Jang-woo asked Kian84 to name another recipe he had developed on Ganghwa Island using dried mullet and the sweet potato jelly pancake. After long thought, when Lee Jang-woo heard the name of the menu, he could not hide his laughter, saying it reminded him of Jun Hyun-moo.
With various guests and abundant attractions earning viewers' approval, "Countryside village Lee Jang-woo 2" has established itself as a program that allows insight into Lee Jang-woo's sincerity and passion for regional regeneration, beyond mere entertainment. It airs every Tuesday at 9 p.m.
