The MBC episode of Son Seok-hee's Questions featuring G-Dragon, which has been a hot topic since the YouTube preview, will be postponed by one week due to live coverage of the professional baseball Korean Series. The broadcast is at 9 p.m. on Nov. 5.
Son Seok-hee and G-Dragon first met 10 years ago on Newsroom, which Son Seok-hee was hosting. In that interview, which G-Dragon has cited as the most memorable, Son Seok-hee asked at the end, "When will you go to the military?" which caused a stir. He then said, "Even after you complete military service, don't lose your current sensibility," and G-Dragon later confessed that those words continue to influence him. In the previewed Questions, Son Seok-hee copied that question exactly but changed it to "When will you get married?" and G-Dragon's response to that drew public attention.
The two's interview leads into in-depth conversations about G-Dragon's music and life that fans have not had the chance to hear. It covers a seven-year hiatus and comeback, incidents that led to unintended public misunderstanding, criticism of the media that emerged amid those events, reflections on the passage of time, and G-Dragon's heartfelt thoughts that have never been heard anywhere else, all of which unfold on Questions.
The production team said the program makes clear throughout why G-Dragon wanted to meet Son Seok-hee again. Son Seok-hee also said, "G-Dragon is the one who has continuously reinvented the engine called K-pop," and added, "When I think of him, I can't help but think of the three letters 'genius.'"
In particular, the two showed perfect chemistry despite meeting after a long time. The production team hinted it was "one of the most enjoyable episodes of Questions so far." Fans who saw the preview couldn't hide their expectations, saying things like "an interview with a 10-year narrative," "a meeting that will combine dignity and hipness," and "they talked about 10 years ahead in a past interview and now, as if by magic, the two have met again." MBC asked for understanding, saying, "Although viewers' interest is high, we regrettably had to delay the broadcast by one week in case the professional baseball game ends late."
